WHAT DOES EX NIHILO MEAN?

In ancient times, the Romans believed that the world had always existed. A common phrase was "Ex nihilo nihil fit" or "Nothing comes from nothing".

The early Christians knew differently. God had created the world and everything in it out of nothing. "Creatio Ex Nihilo" meant "Creation out of nothing" in Latin.

So there you have it. On a more personal note, we call ourselves Ex Nihilo because once we were nothing, but God made us something!
