The Haunted Chamber Library

Welcome to the Library. I've spent decades amassing a horrifying collection of books and movies for your enjoyment. The lights are still out, so take a candle, have a seat in the reading room with what you've chosen and keep your wits about you. This is an old house with many rooms, floors and winding stairways, and I don't always know what those noises really are.....
My library has an extensive selection of books and novels. I've taken the liberty of offering up a few for you to look over. You'll need something to read in your bedroom chamber tonight. It will distract you from the things that go bump in the night around here. It's still storming outside, so take a spare candle with you to your bedroom chamber..

If movies are more to your liking, I've selected a few from the library's collection to keep you company in your bedroom chamber tonight. If the lights come back on, slip one in the DVD player, but be sure to keep the sound low - too much noise disturbs the resident spirits.
Halloween - 1978 - A classic Halloween movie filled with classic characters: The masked slasher who escapes from the mental hospital, the sexy bed-romping teens, the wallflower who saves the day, trick-or-treating fun...
An American Werewolf In London - 1981 - Resplendent special effects! Truly horrifying with plenty of gore.
The Exorcist - 1973 - The ultimate in horror. You might never get over this one. Take caution in viewing, it's extraordinarily graphic and sometimes nauseating.
The Thing - 1982 - Reminiscent of the '50's horror craze.
Night of the Living Dead - 1968 - Will soundly scare the pants off of you. Campy '60's gore.
The War of the Worlds - 1953 - A classic alien movie. A remake of this movie starring Tom Cruise is out on DVD. Graphic, frightening and not recommended for young pumpkins. Tim Robbins puts in an excellent cameo as a crazed man in hiding from the alien invaders.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1956 - Extremely tame in comparison with today's horror flicks, but entertaining and fun to watch. Pod people!
Dracula - 1992 - Ooooh - shivers - Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder play out a macabre dance. Excellent!
The Grudge - 2004 - Even I slept with the lights on for a while after watching this. Need I say more?
    The Ring - 2002 - Don't watch this alone!
White Noise - 2004 - Although not exactly technically accurate with regards to the particulars of EVP (electronic voice phenomena; ghost voices on tape, basically) it's entertaining but the ending is unsatisfying.
Scream - 1996 - Already a classic and Halloween night staple. Highly recommended; scary and filled with gore. Fantastic cast.
Scream II - 1997 - A bit contrived, but entertaining with good plot twists. Plenty of gore!
Scream III - 2000 - Again, somewhat contrived but it's still a great trilogy. The Randy appearance on tape is greatly appreciated.
Ringu - 1998 - See it before seeing "The Ring", then decide for yourself which is scarier.("The Ring" is based on this)
