| Plot Summary
|
Prologue
A police officer yells, "Freeze!" while he holds a gun to Buffy. The police believe that she was the one responsible for Kendra's death and everything else that happened to the library. She is placed under arrest, however, she evades the cops and runs from the school.
Part 1
In a black coat and hat, Buffy arrives at the hospital. She runs into Xander, who tells her that Willow suffered a head trauma and is still unconcious. Cordelia arrives and the gang realizes that Giles is missing. Meanwhile, at the garden mansion, Angel threatens to torture Giles if he doesn't help Angel revive Acathla. The police tell Joyce what's happened. Buffy goes to Giles' house where she meets Whistler. He tells her what she has to do to stop Acathla. On her way home, a cop stops her but is knocked unconscious by Spike.
Part 2
She tries to kill him, but he tells her tha the wants to help. He also tells her that Angel has Giles at the mansion. At the hospital, Xander tells Willow he loves her when suddenly she wakes up asking for Oz. Buffy and Spike run into Joyce, who is worried. Buffy and Spike tell her that they are in a band together. This works until a vampire shows up and Buffy dusts it in front of Joyce. Buffy then tells her that she's a Vampire Slayer.
Part 3
Buffy and Spike work out a plan, but as Buffy leaves, Joyce stops her. Joyce tells her that if she leaves she should never come back, and Buffy leaves. At the hospital, Willow decides to try the ritual again. At the mansion, Angel tortures Giles. Buffy goes to the library to get the sword. While there, Snyder tells her that she's expelled. At the mansion, Drusilla casts a spell on Giles to make him think that she's Jenny. Believing the illusion, Giles reveals that Angel's blood is the only way to awaken Acathla.
Part 4
Willow begins the ritual again. Buffy goes to the mansion with Xander and chaos ensues. Xander rescues Giles and Buffy and Angel come face to face. Spike gets out of his wheelchair and hits Angel across the back. Drusilla gets mad at Spike, stopping him from hurting Angel. Angel completes the awakening of Acathla, while the soul restoration begins to work. Spike gently knocks Drusilla unconscious so he can carry her away. Buffy and Angel fight when the soul restoration is complete. Angel has his soul back and asks Buffy what's going on. Buffy kisses him and tells him she loves him. She tells him to close his eyes, kisses him, and stabs him with the sword. The whirlpool created by Acathla and Angel disappear. Joyce finds a note on Buffy's bed, Willow returns to school in a wheelchair, and Buffy gets on a bus headed towards LA.

10 out of 10
An amazing conclusion to the season. A heart renching moment at the end when Angel's soul is restored, but Buffy still has to send Angel to Hell. And Buffy leaving for LA, leaving us wondering what's going to happen.
