A
man whose reputation precedes him in the North
part of the Bronx. Those who do not love him,
respect him, and those who do not respect him,
fear him. He is known as Smertel
for more reasons than one, the name coming from
the word Smertel'nyj which is translated to fatal
in Russian. He is classy, luxurious, smooth, and
deadly.. Yet he has been Sergey's idol since Sergey
himself was a little boy. That same little boy
who Vladimir has treated like a son ever since
Sergey spared him from doing life in prison. Sergey,
as a 9 year old kid, had been a witness to a man
Vladimir had shot and killed in defense of a friend,
right in front of the little boy's house. Vladimir
of course knew the small boy had seen him, but
once the cops requested Sergey to ID the one who
killed the man it was only a matter of time before
the little boy stood before Vladimir. Sergey,
finally looking up eye to eye with the man he
considered for a rather long time, the coolest
guy in the world. To everyone's surprise, Sergey
claimed that Vladimir wasn't the one who shot
the man, and that in fact he had no idea who it
was. It shocked even Vladimir, and from that day
on he treated Sergey like nothing less than a
son. Always watching out for him, teaching him
the ways of the street, keeping him out of trouble
as much as he could, and growing attached to him
despite Sergey's father's wishes for his son to
stay away from Vladimir.
He
owns pretty much all of North Bronx, and his power
only continues to grow. He is Sergey's friend,
mentor, and godfather despite what anyone wants
or thinks. Many of Vladimir's "co-workers"
believe he spoils Sergey and is too soft on him.
Even though Vladimir denies and ignores it, he
knows inside that it is true for the simple reason
that he loves him like a father would his own
son. He is the one who Sergey always comes to
when he has a problem, be it emotional or physical.
Always giving good advice and ending it by telling
Sergey to do what he feels is right in his heart
which leads Sergey to always say the same thing
over and over; "You're right. You're always
so right."
