Club orpheus: Located on East Pratt street in Baltimore City, near Fell's Point, Orpheus features an 18 and over Goth night called taboo every Saturday night. The atmosphere is dark, the music fresh and exciting, but the people are approachable, and the bars feature a wide selection of drinks for a low cover, if you wear appropriate attire... black, spikes, chains, dragons, leather etc. If you like industrial clubs, alternative dance, and fetish themes, this place is for you on Saturdays. If you consider "Goth" a thing of that past, don't like clubs, or anyone, who likes to don fetish attire, and dance to industrial music, you may want to stay home. This is not a Goth club, but an industrial dance club with a gothic/fetish theme. You may not want to go on Thursday nights since it is different.
Rechor theatre: An old movie theatre converted into interesting club graces the heart of downtown Towson, known as the Rechor theatre. This is a great place to watch inexpensive concerts of anything from the Toasters to Biohazard. It's 18 and over, but features several bars inside to cater to a wide variety of young adults looking for something inexpensive and fun. Check their website for upcoming shows.
Lamplight Inn: The lamplight, located at 35 Main Street Reisterstown MD 21136, is a quaint little restaurant with excellent food, great drinks, and a prime location just over the border of downtown Reisterstown. It has been expanded to fit three pool tables, and multiple dart and electronic games. The restaurant is separate from the bar, so feel free to bring the family.
Cat's Eye Pub: The Cats eye, located in Fells point is a hisoric pub right near the harbor and the old fire hall where Homicide was shot and filmed. It features a vaguely irish/sailor theme with large wooden boats hanging from the ceiling and various flags and other nicknaks around. Drinks are reasonable though it is a bit small.
The Paper Moon Diner: Located in Baltimore city, the Paper Moon is an eclectic mix of old fashion and Urban Society. Mismatched hand painted furniture, action figures and Barbie dolls from era's ago decorating the walls, bathtubs with well dressed but naked mannequins outside, and odds and ends hanging from everywhere. They feature a wide variety of menu items including everything from steak to vegetarian delights. A great date spot, and fun place to chat with friends.
Pour House: No one ever suspected a coffeehouse not owned by Starbuck's would work in Westminster Maryland, but the Pour House, located at 233 E. Main St does a pretty good business. They serve a variety of tasty cappuccinos, espresso's and other beverages, along with pastries, scones, desserts and other treats. They frequently feature poetry readings, live music, and even concerts.
Say Cheese!: (5732 buckeystown pike, Frederick). What a cool restaurant. It's all you can eat pizza for like 5 dollars. They have many different types of pizzas there, and if you're willing to wait 5 minutes, they'll make you a fresh one to your specifications. They even have dessert Pizzas and video games! One of Frederick's little secrets.
The purple unicorn is a stand at the Maryland Rennaisance festival. They also take orders online at their website.Hot Topic: A store which originally challenged the ideals of what was acceptable in a clothing venue, this store's line of clothing has changed since its opening, but it's still one of the only places south of New York or South Street Philidelphia to find inexpensive industrial/gothic clothing, as well as T-shirts from all your favorite bands.
