Shivering as he felt the cold night air rush through his body. JC leaned against the sign post and lit a cigarette. He had promised himself he would quit before anyone found out, but quitting was easier said than done and in this cold night air all he wanted was a good draw. Running his hands through his hair he hand to wonder how his life got so screwed up. The music, the fame, the money, he had it all. But none of that could overshadow the dark secret he hid. The secret that had, and would cost him everything. How he wished he could be normal. If only he could go back to that fateful night knowing what he knew now. It was 2 years ago but he could remember it as if it were yesterday. He had drove to Baileys a bar just outside of Orlando. It was a Friday night and the place had been empty, almost too empty. He had taken a seat at the bar and that's when he saw him, the tall handsome figure. They had shared a few beer s they talked about seemingly nothing. The strange had asked him back to his place. He knew better of it, to sleep with someone he had just met but all he had wanted was to get layed. It still seemed a blur. The kisses, the fumbling in the dark. He had never felt like that in his life and sadly he never would again. His world had come falling down. and now life seemed to come one day at a time. He used to believe in so much, now he didn't know what to believe. Looking up he quickly put his cigarette out as he saw Justin approaching.
"What are you standing outside in the dark for" said Justin.
"I needed some air. Have you ever wondered if your life is all a dream that you'll someday wake up from" said JC.
"Not really" said Justin puzzled at JC's question.
"Sometimes I wish I could just wake up" said JC.
"Wake up, you would trade all of this" said Justin.
"Huh, no, I... Nevermind, come on, let's go inside"
"You know I thought Chris would have been here by now the way he drives" said Justin.
"I heard that" said Chris appearing the in the doorway.
"He has such great timing" said Justin.
"So you have a problem with my driving" said Chris his face inches from Justin's.
"Yeah, so what if I do" said Justin.
"No one question's my driving" said Chris.
"I do" said Lance smiling as he sat the bag on the counter.
"No one asked you" said Chris smiling.
"Fine, see if I offer my opinion again" said Lance.
"What do you think, am I a bad driver" said Chris turning to JC.
"I think your all crazy, I'm going to go change, I'll be right back" said JC. Making his way to the bathroom JC fought to catch his breath as the wave of nauseausness rushed over him. Turning on the faucet he splashed his face with the cool water. Staring in the mirror he almost didn't recognize the figure staring back at him. He had been sick for weeks now and he knew it was a bad sign but somehow he had tried to tell himself, it was just the tour, he was just exhausted but the pain had gotten worse and the pills did little if anything to help. Sitting on the bed he took the bottle of pills from the nighstand. Opening them he placed the two pills in his hand and headed towards the sounds of laughter filling the kitchen.
"I'm telling you it's weird. JC tell him it's weird to put hot sauce on pizza" said Chris.
"It's good, you should try it" said Joey.
"Hello, earth to JC" said Chris.
"Huh, oh yeah it is a little weird" said JC.
"Are you ok" said Chris.
"I'm fine, you guys get the movie going and I'll get the popcorn" said JC.
"What did you get" asked Chris.
"Never Been Kissed" said Justin.
"Why you gotta always go getting chick flicks" said Chris.
"It was my turn to choose, I like Drew Barrymore" said Justin.
"JC, come on" said Lance.
"I'm coming" said JC hurriedly washing the pills down.
