"I don't believe this. You actually going to get married" said Brian.
"Yes."
"You know it won't be legal" said Brian.
"It will in our hearts. You know your supposed to be our friend. Why can't you be happy for us" said Nick.
"I think it's a mistake" said Brian.
"If you think it's such a mistake maybe you shouldn't bother coming to the wedding" said Nick.
"Maybe I won't. You know accept the two of you being gay. I tried to accept the two of you being together, but I couldn't" said Brian.
"So the truth finally comes out."
"I wanted too. Your my friends. Your like family" said Brian.
"But you just couldn't, could you" said Nick.
I"m sorry Nick."
"Me too. You know we don't need you. We don't need anyone. We have each other. I should be going Howie is waiting" said Nick.
"Nick, I didn't know you were here" said Leighanne.
"Actually, I was just leaving. I'm sorry if I interrupted anything." Watching as Nick made his way down the driveway Brian felt nothing but sadness.
"What was that all about" said Leighanne.
"Nick and Howie are getting married."
"That's wonderful."
"Is it" said Brian.
"Your not happy about it" said Leighanne.
"I told Nick I wasn't coming to the wedding."
"Not going, their your friends, your family." "I can't do it Leigh" said Brian.
"But..."
"I'm not going, end of discussion" said Brian.
"Hey, your back. I picked up some Chinese for dinner" said Howie. "Nice of you to ask me what I wanted" said Nick. "I thought you would enjoy it. So did you tell Brian" said Howie. "Yeah, look you should know we had a little fight. He's not coming to the wedding" said Nick. "What." "I said he's not coming. Of course it's just like Brian to do this" said Nick. "I'm sure he just..." "Don't, don't you dare defend him. How long are you going to keep making excuses for him, for my parents. You know I don't care, I just don't care." "Go ahead, act like like it dosen't matter if that will make you feel better, but I don't think it will" said Howie. "How do you know what I feel. I've spent my entire life trying to please them. I did everything they asked. And all I wanted was to hear them say just once they were proud of me. What did I ever do to them. Why can't they love me, for me" said Nick leaning against the counter as he began to sob.
"It's going to be ok" said Howie cradling him.
"Let's get married, tomorrow" said Nick.
"I didn't just hear you say tomorrow."
"We could get married here, at the house" said Nick.
"Are you crazy, we couldn't possibly..."
"All we needs is your parents and the guys and someone to marry us. What if we wait, what if you change your mind."
"Whoa! Slow down, I'm not changing my mind. I said yes didn't I."
"Life is short, why should we wait."
"Who are we going to find to marry us" said Howie.
"I don't know. We can call Kevin I'm sure he knows someone."
"Your really sure about doing this tomorrow" said Howie.
"Yes. Give me your cell phone, I'll call Kevin.
"Do you think we could eat the Chinese before it gets cold" said Howie.
"Go ahead" said Nick as he dialed the number.
"You really should eat something."
"Kev, it's Nick. What would you say to a wedding, tomorrow" said Nick.
"A wedding, tomorrow. I'm afraid you've lost me."
"We've decided to get married tomorrow" said Nick.
"Your joking right?"
"No, can you find someone to marry us."
"Wow! I guess, my friend Rick does a lot of ceremonies. I don't know if he's free tomorrow. I'll have to give him a call" said Kevin.
"Do whatever you have to do. By this time tomorrow I want to be married" said Nick.
