"Do you know what happened." said Kevin.

"Apparently he staggered into the street. That's when he was hit."

"Can I see him."

"Certainly. You should prepare yourself. He's not, well he was badly injured" said Dr. Wilshire. Opening the door he stood petrified. Too terrified to move, to believe that any of this was real.

"The group, his foundation, the club. It all seemed like nothing. "I don't understand. What were you thinking. You had been sober for three months. How could you think that the club, that anything was more important to me than you. I have to tell you, you have to know how much I loved you. God, I can't do this" said Kevin . Opening the door he began to sob as he held onto the railing.

"You look rather pale. You should sit down" said Dr. Winslow.

"He's cold. He needs a blanket, he shouldn't be cold" said Kevin.

"Maybe you would like to talk with our Chaplin" said Dr. Winslow.

"No, I'm fine. I need to get home I have people to call."

"Well, if you'll excuse me. I need to see a patient" said Dr. Winslow.

"If only he had come home. God, how he wished he could do things over" Kevin thought as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"You know what the Chinese say. Be careful what you wish for. It just might come true. You know sometimes a wish is granted and it's not always what you hoped it would be" said the stranger sitting down.

"No offense, but if you do I know you?"

"You will. If it helps he was unconscious when they brought him. He didn't feel anything" said the stranger."

"You were there. Are you a doctor?" said Kevin.

"No, I'm an angel."

"Angel, right."

"What, you don't believe in angels."

"No."

"That's too bad."

"I'm sorry, but if you'll excuse me I really need to be getting home" said Kevin.

"Ah home, The house in Clermont, he really loved that house you know."

"How do you know where I live?" asked Kevin.

"I know everything, I'm an angel."

"It was nice talking with you." said Kevin anxiously hoping to end the conversation.

"Your wish, you've been granted another chance. When you return home you will start this day over as if it never happened. Twenty fours hours to live again. You've been given a gift few people receive. You only get one shot. When 2 A.M. comes, AJ will meet the same fate. Oh, by the way. My name is Andrew."

"Well, Andrew, I'll give you an A for effort. You see it would nice if this could all magically come true but it can't. AJ is gone. And I can never see his face when I wake up in the morning. Or tell him how much I love him. I thought he knew, I really thought he knew" said Kevin.

"That's the problem with people today. Their always too much about assuming and not enough about reminding the people in their lives how much they mean to them. You have to stop taking life for granted and you can start, right now. By making the most of this beautiful gift you have been bestowed. Maybe this will help you to realize what's really important" said Andrew.
