"Great, just great. I tell the boy to stay put and get some sleep and what does he do? He disappears. At least it won't be hard to find him. Excuse me, what are you doing" said Henry.
"I wanted to check on him" said Lance.
"I told you to stay put. Now come on."
"What if he gets cold" said Lance.
"He'll pull the covers up. You know the boy took care of himself long before you came along and he can take care of himself without you" said Henry.
"Without me? We're a team, we do everything together."
"Correction, you did." said Henry.
"Guy's I"m really worried about him. He won't listen to me, he won't listen to his dad. And what he's doing to Aaron. Chris, maybe if you tried again with him. He's always looked up to you and I know you two share a special bond" said Lynn.
"I've just tried to look out for him" said Chris as he nervously avoiding Lynn's gaze.
"Geez, you scared me half to death. What are you doing on the bus" said Steve as Justin groggily set up.
"I guess I feel asleep. I just wanted to feel near him. Is it already morning" said Justin.
"Yeah."
"Today is the 20th. Lance and I were married a year ago today" said Justin.
"That's right, God I didn't even realize" said Steve.
"Didn't realize. How could anyone forget our wedding. He had been so nervous. Being in love with Lance was one thing but marrying him. Saying I do in front of all those people. His stomach was churning already. He wanted to see him, to see that beautiful smile that seemed to make it all go away. But no, they had been kept apart. Something about bad luck before the wedding. Bad luck, their couldn't be bad luck before a wedding, if he didn't make it to the wedding. He had hated the tux, everything about it was too tight. He didn't remember the last one being this tight. It had seemed like forever, but then it had seemed like only minutes when he finally saw that smile and somehow he knew everything would be alright. They had written their own vows. Vows he had stayed up memorizing into the night. He knew them like the back of his hand but yet when it had been time for him to speak he could barely utter the words. The moment that would change their lives was over in a flash. And soon they had been dancing away in some elegant dance hall. Then soon it was no more and they were alone in their hotel room. Making love as if it were their first time. If only he could feel Lance's touch again. He didn't understand. They were supposed to be together forever. Why did God do this, why did he take him away.
"Come on, I think we need to get you home" said Steve shaking Justin from his thoughts.
"I need to stop at my mom's. I have to pick up Aaron" said Justin.
"I know I'm going to regret asking this. But what's with the look" said Henry.
"Why did God let me die. I was a good person, I never did anything wrong" said Lance.
"God has his reasons" said Henry.
"Old people die, their expected to die. I wasn't ready" said Lance.
"You think I was. I had a career, a wife and two kids. None of us are ever ready" said Henry.
"Then why?"
"Like I said. God has his reasons" said Henry.
"Yeah, well I would like to talk to him about those reasons" said Lance.
"So would the rest of the 10,000 angels waiting their turn. Look, I know this is hard but you just have to accept it" said Henry.
"Accept it, I'll never accept it" said Lance.
"Don't I know it. That's why I'm stuck with you. You know if you would just let go we could all be a lot happier. Then I could move on to more important things" said Henry.
"Move on" said Lance puzzled.
"As long as you insist on being alive I'm stuck looking after you" said Henry.
"I didn't ask for you."
"I didn't ask for you either genius but we're stuck together. Get it, stuck" said Henry.
