Squinting as the bright sunlight filled the room Howie rolled over, smiling as he stared at AJ sleeping peacefully. He was his best friend and the man he loved. That day AJ stood on the street corner he saw a look in his eyes he hadn't seen before. He couldn't explain it, but suddenly he knew their friendship was more than friendship. Now a year later they had moved in together and hopelessly in love. Sometimes he couldn't imagine being happier. Couldn't imagine not waking up not waking up next to him. Softly running his fingers through AJ's hair. He gently rolled over and sat up.
"Where do you think you're doing" said AJ pulling him back into bed.
"Getting up" replied Howie.
"Your not going anywhere mister" said AJ kissing Howie's lips fervently.
"We have to get up" said Howie.
"I don't want to get up. I want spend all day in bed making love to you" said AJ.
"All day, don't you think you'd get a little tired" said Howie smiling.
"Of you, never" said AJ.
"A day off is never really a day off. I'm going to go take a shower" said Howie.
"I could use one of those" said AJ.
"Oh no, if you take a shower with me we will never get finished" said Howie.
"You know, sometimes your no fun" said AJ frowning as he pulled the sheet over his head.
"Weren't you supposed to meet up with your mom today" said Howie turning on the faucet.
"Holy shit, my mom. I completely forgot. Getting out of bed he wrapped the sheet around him as he searched for his clothes.
"Umm...Howie, where are my clothes" said AJ poking his head in the doorway.
"I don't know" replied Howie.
"If your going to take them off of me the least you could do is remember where you put them" said AJ smiling.
"Try the stairs. That would be where you got carried away" said Howie.
"That was your fault" said AJ.
"My fault."
"You had to wear the leather pants" said AJ.
"Well excuse me, but it's not my fault you can't keep it in check" said Howie smiling.
"It's always your fault for being so damn sexy" said AJ.
"I've got to get these clothes to Polly. You want to pick up the pasta on your way home" said Howie.
"Yeah, sure."
"Great. I will see you, later" said Howie as he kissed him goodbye.
"Staring out the window as the bus pulled into the terminal Raine grew more nervous. She had been playing over the events in her mind. She knew he would be shocked too see her. What he would say. What would he think.
"Excuse me, their going to be cleaning the bus so you'll have to wait in the terminal."
" Thanks, but I'm getting off here" said Raine. Placing the backpack over her shoulder she frowned as entered the terminal. She should be used to this by now. She had certainly ridden enough Greyhound's in her life. Fumbling in her pocket she pulled out her last two quarters and placed them in the machine. She was hungry and the two cookies would have to do. She had $10 left to her name. Hopefully enough to cover the cab fare. Stepping into the bright sunlight it was easy to spot the cabs lined along the curb.
"Excuse me, I need to get to Winter Park. How much would it be" said Raine.
"Winter Park, run you at least $15" said the driver.
"I only have $10."
"Probably get you half way."
"Please, it's all I've got. I have to get their" said Raine pleading.
"Get in."
"Thank you."
"Didn't do it for you, little lady. So where too." said the driver.
"517 Oak Meadow" replied Raine.
Ritzy neighborhood. Your family live there."
"No, a friend" said Raine.
"That's nice. I'm sure they will be glad to see you" said the driver.
"He doesn't know I'm coming."
"Ah, so he'll be surprised."
"Yeah, in more ways than one" said Raine. Staring at the buildings as they drove Raine had to admit she still loved Orlando. It had been her dream to move here. A dream she had held onto until the day she met AJ and her life changed forever.
"Here, you go little lady."
Handing him the crumpled bill Raine stepped out of the cab, staring at the house before her. Their were no gates around the house. AJ had said he refused to live like a prisoner. She never expected she would be back here, but then she never expected a lot of things.
