"How pathethic is this, I have nothing to do tonight" said Chris leaning against the counter.
"Pathetic, you want to talk pathetic, try a party at Blue Planet" said Ellie.
"Blue Planet" said Chris.
"Scott invited me, their having a party for Jerry" said Ellie.
"You in a club, that's definately a step up" said Chris
"Yeah it is, you wanna come with me, maybe if their are two of us I won't end up bored out my skull" said Ellie.
"Sure, I need to go home and change though, so I'll have to meet you there" said Chris. "Ok, I gotta take a shower and get ready, feel free to hang out if you like" said Ellie.
Closing the door Ellie turned on the hot water as the steam filled the air. Removing her clothes she stepped into the shower and let the water rush over her body.
"Ellie can I borrow your Luther Vandross CD, I want to make a copy of it" said Chris.
"Yeah sure" shouted Ellie over the running water. Opening the dresser drawer, Chris couldn't help but notice the silhouette of Ellie's beautiful body. She was everything Chris could want, did want, but she was his friend, and he knew no matter how much he wanted it, it could never be, at least that's what his head thought, his heart however was a different story though.
"Did you find it" shouted Ellie.
"Umm... yeah thanks, I'm gonna head over to my mom's and then go home and change" said Chris.
"Hey, mom" said Chris kissing her on the check.
"Right on time" said Beverly.
"You know me" said Chris smiling.
I've got the brownie's all ready, now your sure you won't forget to drop them by Ms Lawson's tomorrow" said Beverly.
"No mom, I won't forget" said Chris.
"You look nice, you going out?" asked Beverly.
"Ellie invited me to a party" said Chris.
"A party, sound's like fun, where is it at?" asked Beverly. "Blue Planet" said Chris
"Well I hope you have a good time" said Beverly.
"This is crazy, I don't even know what I'm doing here" said Ellie as she sat down at the bar.
"Looking for love, just like everyone else" said the bartender looking up.
"Oh, I'm just waiting for a friend" said Ellie.
"A friend huh, I've heard that one more than a few times. What's your friend look like, maybe I've seen him" said the bartender.
"He's gorgeous, brown hair, amazing smile, you can't miss him" said Ellie.
"Hmm... that narrows it down to about half the men in here" said the bartender smiling.
"Hi" said the stranger taking a seat next to her.
"Hi" said Ellie.
"You alone?" asked the stranger.
"I'm waiting for someone" said Ellie uncomfortably shifting in her seat.
"Would you like to dance?" asked the stranger.
"Thanks, but maybe later. You know, I think I could use a drink while I'm waiting, something strong" said Ellie.
"You know your boyfriend shouldn't leave a hot looking girl like you stranded, I mean who know's what could happen while he's gone" said the stranger.
"Will you excuse me, I think I need to use the ladies room" said Ellie. Turning the corner into the dimly lit hallway Ellie was startled as she felt a hand cover her eyes. Opening her mouth she attempted to speak but was silenced as the stranger's lips met her's. She wanted to protest but somehow she felt a sense of calm, as if the stranger meant her no harm. "I'm sorry, I apologize, I thought you were someone else" said the stranger in a deep voice.
"Boy, I am definately glad to see you" said Ellie as she noticed Chris sit down next to her.
"You ok, you look a little flushed" said Chris.
"I umm.., I guess it's all the smoke in the air" said Ellie.
"I see you managed to ditch the guy trying to pick you up" said the bartender.
"Yeah, you didn't see anyone follow me, did you?" asked Ellie.
"When you left, no" said the bartender.
"Your sure" said Ellie.
"Yeah, sorry" said the bartender.
"Someone tried to pick you up" said Chris smiling.
"He wanted to dance, thought I was waiting for my boyfriend" said Ellie embarrassed.
"Boyfriend, that's funny, I didn't know you loved me" said Chris jokingly.
"Hey, you know your my best friend, I would never think of you in ...
"You know they say when a man is attracted to someone he approaches the woman when she least expects it. Sort of like in the movie's. You believe those two over there, making out. Whatever happened to decency" said Chris.
"I guess sometimes people like a little adventure" said Ellie.
"Yeah I've seen some people do some pretty interesting thing's in public. You've still got it" said Chris. "What?" said Ellie.
"You still looked dazed, did something happen before I got here? asked Chris.
"You don't want to know, and believe me I don't think I could even explain it. Can I ask you something, do you believe in love at first sight" said Ellie.
"Yeah, but I think 90% of the time it's just lust" said Chris
"But let's say just when your life is about to say, I don't know resemble some nightmare from Elm Street someone kisses you and it changes everything" said Ellie.
"How do you know, what if it dosen't change everything" said Chris.
"Why am I having this conversation with you, I should have known you'd be cynical" said Ellie.
"I'm just saying that one touch dosen't necessarily change everything because you know it's not the touch or the kiss that changes everything, it's the fact that you were kissed. You know maybe your nightmare life isn't so nigtmarish after all, then again what do I know said Chris. You know I think this smoke is starting to get to me too, I'm just gonna cut out, can you tell Jerry if you see him that I left" said Chris.
"Huh?" asked Ellie.
"Tell Jerry I left" said Chris smiling.
