Beautiful Egypt

Eternity...

Beyond...

As you can tell, I love Egypt. I first met the lovely country when, at the age of five, I read the beautiful book "Omm Sety". I thought it was magnificent and quickly sucked up anything I could find on the subject. It culminated in an almost three year project in gradeschool that I recieved a massive A+++ for. (Germany)
At so young an age- the Gods of Egypt, more than anything else, had an impact on me. They LOOKED like Gods should look (to my way of thinking). Equal parts man, beast and plants. Graceful, controled, but so ALIVE. So much more approachable and wonderful than the Christian God I had been told was God. In church I felt nothing, I thought that everyone else felt something- so I pretended to too. (some of them might HAVE felt something- I don't know) In truth, the church held no more power for me than a cracker box with some holy symbol pasted on it. I took me to my middle teens to gather enough courage to throw off the shackles of fear (I was afraid of the reaction of my Mother and family) and truly worship the Gods I love.
If you are Christian and feeling offended please read this.

Inscription reads: Setekh
The one God, whom I was scared of because of what I had read, that drew me closest in my times of trouble was Setekh (Set,Seth). I was struck by lightening at age nine (Chosen you could say, by the Thunderer himself...) this and other things led me to the God Set. I soon came to know that he was not as the early English scholars had labled him, but as the people of Kemet had seen him- potent, elegant, dignified and nessiscary. He was the Lord of Barren Places and Storms, Defender of Women, King of Starless Nights and Blackest Shadows, God of Avenging Wrath, Defender Against Invaders, Lord of Silent Longing Love, Father of Anpu(Anubis), Husband of his beloved Nebe Het(Nephthys), The One Whom is Alone, Defender of the Annead, Slayer of Aser(Osiris), Destroyer of Apep(Apophis). He came to me and took charge of me when I was loneliest, guiding me with sarcasm and gentle prods towards a better life. I serve him gladly. He is a good God, and I will tell more about Him on my pages about the Netjer, the Gods.
