Akai Iitsutae
("Scarlet Legend")

Sung by: Chiriko from Fushigi Yuugi

taatiraira iyasakae utsukushiki sanga arishi kuni minoru daichi yutaka na umi hokorashii inochi yo tokoshie ni
itsu no hi ni ka kuro-kumo ga tami no yorokobi ubai ni kuru
demo an suru na akirameru ma mikado to tomo ni kibou no hi o tomose

"taatiaraira" This is a beautiful country with rivers and mountains.
The earth bears fruit, the oceans are plentiful. You are a country to be proud of forever.
The day will come when dark clouds will come to take away the joy of the people
But do not dismay. Do not give up. Light the fire of hope with your Emperor.

kuni ga ayaui toki miko no shichi seishi
suzaku-shin o yonde horobi o sukuu
kore ga kounan oukoku no iitsutae

When the country is on the brink of destruction,
The Miko and her seven warriors will call on the god Suzaku and save it.
This is the legend of Kounan

chantiraira sora utae subarashiki yume umareru kuni
genki na tami sakaeru ichi yami ni wa keshite wa naranu sekai
isekai kara miko ga kite shichiseishi to tachiagaru toki
tami no kokoro hitotsu to nari mune no mannaka ni akai hi ga tomoru

"Chantiraira" Come, let us sing! This country gives birth to fabulous dreams.
Her country-folk are well, her economy is thriving. She will not easily be extinguised.
A Miko will come from another world and will rise with her seven warriors.
And when she does, the hearts of the country-folk shall join as one and burn with scarlet flames.

suzaku-shin no chikara miko to deau toki
donna negaigoto mo kanaeru to iu
kore ga kounan oukoku no iitsutae
mukashi mukashi kara no iitsutae

When the god Suzaku’s power becomes one with the Miko
It is said that any wish can be granted.
This is the legend of Kounan.
A legend from long, long ago.

*"Taatiraira" means "Everyone came". "Chantiraira" means "Stood up". This is apparently Chinese (There was a Japanese translation at the bottom of the lyrics).
