Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou

Synopsis:

Miyazawa Yukino is a pretty, smart, nice, sweet, perfect girl…or at least that’s how she is at school. At home, she wears old sweats, glasses, and is rude and lively. To put it bluntly, she’s VAIN. All her life, she has enjoyed praise from others and wants it whenever possible, so she excels in many things (she just doesn’t let on how hard it is for her…) But suddenly, her life as the star-pupil and perfect person is ruined when another star-pupil comes to her high school; a boy named Arima. Just like Yukino, he’s smart, good looking, nice, and the perfect boy…only just a little more perfect than she is. Yukino is furious and is determined to beat him. But then Arima finds out Yukino’s secret. At first, he pretends nothing happened (like the good boy he is ^_-) But then he uses it to blackmail Yukino! Yukino discovers that like herself, Arima has another side to him, too, and the two become close friends (or more like accomplices)…but in the typical shoujo manga style, they also fall in love with each other ^_-

I sort of lost interest in this series after the first few volumes and ended up selling them ^^; Maybe I'll reread it through from start to finish (when it's finished) one of these days...

Translations:

The anime has been mostly fansubbed and now is up for commercial release. I've also seen English-translated volumes in mainstreem bookstores. That's all I know...
