AnC Manga page here!

Ayashi no Ceres (AnC) Anime Info:

It started airing in Japan (while I was there) in April, 2000. It's now been released in English. Woot.

For an article that was released before the anime started, go here. I have a picture of the article with pictures of the staff, Watase Yuu, some anime pictures, and I translated it, too.

The Opening Theme
is sung by Iwao Junko (also the voice of Ceres, and like Hayashibara Megumi, also has a little name for herself in j-pop) and is called "Scarlet". I made a romaji and translation of the song here.

The Ending Theme is sung by a group called "DAY BREAK" (created solely for the anime) unlike the slow, melancholy opening theme, this one has a faster beat and reminds me a BIT of T.M.Revolution (with a not as cool singer and a not as cool composer ^_-). I have a romaji and translation of the first song here. The last ending theme was "Cross my Heart", but I don't have that song...

Seiyuu

Here is a list of the seiyuu doing the main characters in the anime. They were almost ALL names we weren't familiar with, and Watase mentioned that herself in the freetalk in AnC vol. 14 that it was strange that she didn't know most of the seiyuu, but she okayed all their voices. plus, she also mentioned that she's almost happy that they are new seiyuu because this way when we listen to the character voices, we won't go "oh! that's so-and-so from blah anime!". (I kinda thought the same thing myself ^_^ )

So anyway, here they are!! Some of them have pictures and comments

Ceres: Iwao Junko (Akane in MTT, Tomoyo in CCS)

-Comments: "When I heard I was going to be Ceres, I was so happy I could have flown! I’m having a hard time finding out how to do her justice to the fans! Sometimes violent, sometimes like a goddess; I want to put not only my voice, but my whole spirit into Ceres."

Aya: Kakazu Yumi (Aya [girl] in Weiss Kreuz)

-Comments: "Hello! I surprised even myself by getting the part of Aya at the audition. I guess our similar points would be our bouncy cheerfulness? It's a very engrossing story, and we're all looking forward to the anime!!"

Tooya: Konishi Katsuyuki

-Comments: "After hearing I was going to be Tooya, and reading through the manga, I was struck dumb...he has amnesia? h--m...ah, well, I’ll try; I THINK I can do it! Everyone, look forward to Ayashi no Ceres!!"

Yuuhi: Itou Kentarou (punk in episode 2 of GTO...hahaha. Well, I'm sure he'll do something else notable some day... ^^;;)

-Comments: "When I looked into my character and bought the manga, it was so good I read all 13 volumes in one sitting! [when he was given the part, only 13 volumes had been released. I am sure that since then he's done his homework and read vol. 14 ^_^] I’m glad to have found such a good story. I hope to portray Yuuhi’s straight-forwardness and his manliness in a way that will not only make girls excited, but boys as well!!"

Aki: Chiba Susumu (Chiaki in Jeanne, and quite a few other notable parts…)

-Comments: "I am honored to be Aki! If I can only portray Aki’s grief well...I’ll try to live up to your expectations, so cheer me on!!"

Chidori: Kawasumi Ayako (Toroko in GTO!! Yaaay!)
Kagami: Sugita Tomokazu
Q: Kujira
Alec: Seki Tomokazu (Chichiri in FY, Touya in CCS, Murai Kunio in GTO, Van in Esca...and the list goes on...and on...and on...alksdjfasd.f.)
Mikagi: Miki Shin'ichiro (Yoji in Weiss, Keisuke in FY, Tsuzuki in Yami no Matsuei, etc. ^_^)

Special AnC CD I won a special AnC CD with TV-size versions of the theme songs and comments from the 5 seiyuu and from Watase Yuu. (this CD is not for sale in stores). Info and translations found here I’m considering putting it up for auction soon…seeing as how it’s rare as hell…

Ayashi no Ceres Report. Sometimes Shocomi gives little tidbits of info on behind the scenes stuff with the Ayashi no Ceres anime recordings and stuff like that. Whenever I used to live in Japan and get Shocomi twice a month, I translated the articles that came out.

Might there NOT be a SHURO? This was a little speculation I had a while ago, and I was partly correct. There WAS a Shuro, only there was much less of her... =( It sort of made the story confusing and her sacrifice for Aya's freedom was FAR LESS SIGNIFICANT this way...but at least I got to see Shuro move and hear her talk and sing ^-^

Episode Summaries and Comments
...as I watched them. The Summaries are well-written, spell-checked, and sweetly brief, and the Comments are random blabbings ^^; I used to summarize them the day after they were aired in Japan [b/c, well, I used to LIVE in Japan...] but now the summaries will be quite delayed indeed...oh well. FINALLY, on my birthday (June 20, 2001), I received the rest of the episodes on CD from my host dad in Japan (he pulled through for me!! Yaaaay!! ^v^)...However, a few episodes were missing ^^;; I have since seen the rest of the series, but I don't feel like summarizing anymore. Just get the series yourself : p
