Act
LXXXII
Awake the Sleeping Giant
They were 50 feet deep in the
ground. Their path was obstructed by a giant stone wall. "Looks like we've
been led to a dead end," said Vasteel.
"We have to break our way
through this wall. This wall is part of a giant stone cube. The walls are
thirty feet thick," explained Omatase.
"How are we supposed to break
through it?" asked Feral Heart.
"This isn't an ordinary stone
structure. This is known as a mental block. Physical force won't budge it, only
our mental prowess can break through it," answered Omatase.
The others didn't know how to do it.
"You need to focus your mental
energy and concentrate on breaking through this wall. Block out any outside
distractions while concentrating."
He meditated for a few minutes. A
surge of mental energy coming from him struck the stone wall, causing a small
hole to appear. He broke his concentration to show them how to do it.
"I'll need everyone's help."
The wall repaired itself.
"After we make a hole all the way through the wall, we'll have to hurry
through it before it closes up."
"Let's do this," said
Kousagi.
"No matter what happens, stay
focused," instructed Omatase. There was utter silence in the room. They
had broken their way through almost half of the wall in a fair amount of time.
A laugh echoed. Some of them opened
their eyes to see what it was, breaking their concentration. There was a taru
taru there, who looked almost identical to Omatase.
It yelled out their names, running
around the room. Omatase was blocking out the distraction as best he could.
"Who is that?" asked
Vasteel. She, Rie, Feral Heart and Nami were busy chasing a
disappearing-reappearing taru. He was too fast for them to catch.
He shot clear bubbles at everyone,
hitting them on their heads. They were mental bubbles that caused images to
flash in their minds, making them lose focus. Omatase, Kousagi, Tokamo and Mia
opened their eyes to see what was going on.
"He looks just like you,"
noticed Mia.
"It seems the mental block
decided to distract us with something that looks like me."
"I am Omakase. It's been left
up to me to stop you from getting through."
"I'll have to kill you now. I'm
sorry I kept you waiting so long," taunted Omatase.
Omakase struck them in the foreheads
with more mental bubbles. This time instead of being random images flashing through
their minds, they saw images of Kousagi kissing Armin.
Everyone was surprised at what they
saw, especially Rie. "When did this happen?" asked Rie, angrily.
"It's not what you think,"
replied Kousagi.
"Oh
really? It seemed pretty clear to me what
it was about."
"I know you're upset, but you
can't get distracted like this. Look at the wall, it's repairing itself,"
pleaded Omatase.
"We can bust through that thing
later. I deserve an explanation," demanded Rie.
"Can't you see this is exactly
what Omakase wants?" reasoned Omatase.
Rie backed Kousagi into a corner.
"It looks like we're going to
have to deal with Rie's temper right now," realized Omatase, sighing.
They tried calming her down.
"I want to know what the hell
that was about!"
"You need to calm down
first," said Tokamo.
"There wasn't anything behind
it. I asked him to help me get my memories back, and it worked. Touch is a
powerful thing," explained Kousagi.
The flames of fury were building up
within Rie. "I really wish the two of you would've asked me about it
first."
"It was the only thing I could
think of at the time to get my memories restored."
Rie gave herself a few minutes to
calm down. "You know me. I have a strong tendency to get jealous. I'm
still pissed, though," said Rie.
"Let's put this behind us and
continue with our mission," suggested Omatase.
"I was hoping you would've been
distracted longer than that," said Omakase.
"You
again! I'll teach you to take on my
likeness."
"I've had just about enough of
you," said Rie. She attacked him with her fiery flames of rage and Omatase
cast some powerful spells on him, destroying him once and for all.
"He wasn't so tough,"
commented Tokamo.
"What'd you expect? He was just
a cheap knock off."
They finished breaking their way
through the wall, preventing it from repairing itself ever again.
They entered a room filled with a
lot of sand. Omatase raised his hands, causing the ground to rumble a little. A
metallic object could be seen, slowly rising from the deep sands.
Omatase wiped the sand off it, revealing
a stasis capsule of some sort. The window to the capsule was very dusty, making
it hard to see inside. "Is someone in there?" asked Kousagi.
"Yes, a sailor senshi is in
there," answered Omatase.
"What's one doing in
there?" asked Nami.
"This capsule preserves her
strength."
"How do we get her out? Do we
just bust her out?" asked Mia.
"No, she's going to have to do
that herself. The only spots weak enough to break open the capsule are
inside."
Vasteel's dagger only scratched it a
little.
Sailor Telesto appeared before them.
"Have you come back for another
ass whooping?" asked Feral Heart.
"I hope you all savor this
moment because this will be the end of your journey."
"Don't you remember what
happened last time?" asked Vasteel.
"I've got a surprise this
time," replied Sailor Telesto. She began glowing, shedding her sailor
senshi uniform and gaining a long, turquoise colored dress in its place.
"How did you transform into a
princess? Don't you need a powerful crystal to do that?" asked Mia, confusedly.
"I managed to ingest a small,
shattered piece from the barazuishou fragment. It has been absorbed into my
body and has made me stronger, by allowing me to transform into a
princess."
"Then we'll have to dethrone
you," threatened Sailor Ares.
"Stay back." She used the
small crystal piece inside her to incapacitate them. "This absurd
rebellion of yours ends here."
She walked over to Kousagi, grabbing
her by the collar. "I'll start with you. Taking out the leader is a great
tactic; don't you think?"
They were helpless to intervene.
Sailor Telesto threw her on the
ground, pressing her foot on top of her. "The council cannot be
destroyed." She used her oceanic rock attack.
Kousagi was struck by cold rocks,
splashing sea water on her. She was bruised, scratched and bleeding with salt
in her wounds.
"Had enough yet? Are you ready
to die?"
The tiny crystal piece appeared in
her hands, having a dim pink color. "I am the barazuishou's chosen moon
princess. I'll make the council stronger than ever."
A small ball of light from the
crystal piece struck Kousagi. Lavender ribbons of light surrounded Kousagi,
causing the light from the crystal piece to retreat.
Sailor Telesto was surprised.
"How can you show such resistance?"
The lavender ribbons embraced
Kousagi, dressing her with a lavender princess dress. Sailor Telesto stepped
back, taken by surprise. "How can you transform into a moon princess
without a crystal?"
The crystal piece stopped emitting a
pink light. "I won't leave here until I kill you." Sailor Telesto
used her strength to bring back some of its light to strike Kousagi.
Kousagi was holding back the crystal
piece's light as best as she could.
"I can still overpower you with
this small crystal piece."
The door to the capsule flew off,
with a sailor senshi emerging.
Sailor Telesto was too focused on
destroying Kousagi and would take care of the others later.
The sailor senshi that busted out of
the capsule walked up behind Sailor Telesto. She punched her in the back of the
head, breaking her skull and making it protrude out of her forehead. A hole was
made through the back of her head. She collapsed face first onto the ground.
Kousagi walked up to the sailor
senshi from the capsule. She was 6' 2", had long black hair, and was
wearing a sailor senshi uniform with earth tones.
"Thank you for your help,
Sailor Titan."
"I'm glad I woke up in
time."
"What got you to wake up?"
asked Rie.
"I felt a bunch of warm light
calling me back from my long slumber."
"It was probably the light from
you, Kousagi," thought Omatase.
"Let's go. I don't want to be
around this bloody mess," said Nami.
"Let me take care of one last
thing," said Kousagi. The crystal piece rose up into the air and into her
hands. It was drawn into Kousagi. She absorbed the rest of its power, making it
her own. The crystal piece fell on the ground, being an ordinary, fragile
crystal.
"How do you feel?" asked
Omatase.
"I feel great. How long was I
sleeping?"
"A
few years. I'll catch you up to speed on
what's been going on."
They went back to the surface, where
they were once again in the western altepa desert.
A sandstorm covered up a large
portion of the dead Antican soldiers.
They came across the partially sand
covered bodies of Sailor Mimas and Iapetus. They had a moment of silence.
Afterwards, Omatase had everyone
stand close to one another. He warped everyone back to Basdor. They stayed at
Metalworks, in a secret room in Cid's laboratory. "I'm going to meditate
for a while. Relax for now," said Omatase. He left to another room.
