Clouds of mist covered the unforgiving ground thickly, blanketing the entire room and surrounding the place with a soothing calmness. Silence filled the room as well as the dark, disturbed only by the candlelight. To a visitor, this was a loner's paradise.

To Setsuna Meioh, on the other hand, it was an unforgiving hell.

The normally stoic woman sighed miserably and leaned against back of her chair. "Cripes," she murmured. "Why the heck does a stone GATE of all things need to be guarded?" Setsuna looked at the towering stone Gates of Time with ruby eyes full of hate.

"You suck." she growled at the gates.

In response, the Gates of Time began to rumble. Setsuna gasped and bolted from her chair to duck underneath the nearby table.

The Gates of Time rumbled once, twice, thrice, fwice--

"Okay, they get it already!" Setsuna snarled at the narrartor.

Fine! Ahem. Anyway, the Gates of Time rumbled one more time, before BOOM!

"Wahh!" Setsuna wailed as the table, her only shelter, flew away from her. "It's a good thing I always keep a spare umbrella in case of an emergency!" she laughed triumphtly and produced an umbrella (from where, I don't think we want to know).

She grinned happily as she held the umbrella over her head and waited as the debris finished falling. As the last piece of rock fell, Setsuna peered and gasped at a most horrendous sight.

The Gates of Time...were DESTROYED!!! (dun dun duuuunnnnn)

"No! Not DESTROYED!! (dun dun dunnnnnnn)" Setsuna sobbed.

Yes! DESTROYED! (dun dun dunnnnnnnn)

"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Setsuna screamed. "I haven't gotten my paycheck yet!(dun dun dunnnnnnn)" Suddenly, the woman gasped over dramatically and slapped her forehead with the palm of her hand.

"AND MY INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER THIS!!!! (DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!)"

While Setsuna sobbed into her hands at the thought of not colletcting the insurance money, she never did hear the many manical giggles of something so sinister, so evil, so vile... and cute.
