the Damn Personals "Standing Still in the USA" (Big Wheel Recreation)
Ladies and gentlemen, the Damn Personals are back and they are kicking ass like never before. I remember seeing this unique rock'n'roll combination a number of times and hearing songs I really enjoyed, but not finding them on the "Driver Driver" CD. It was strange to me. Why would they be playing these great songs but not have them released?
I guess that all comes down to their follow up to "Driver Driver", which I must say was long overdue.
The first song "Fucking In NYC" is one I remember from them playing live, with the hook up, "I will never find the one, I will never be okay". Also, I remember hearing them play "Amphetamine Rifles" at least twice before, with the line "We got the guns, amphetamine rifles". "Back At You" is also a good song with the chorus, "If I get through this I'll get back at you some how".
Basically, this is a great CD of rock'n'roll. If you have already been a fan of the Damn Personals, this will live up to all your expectations. If you have not yet heard them, shame on you, and pick up this classic. It surely surpasses "Driver Driver", which in its own right was a great piece of music as well.
