Hopefully if you're reading this, you're not seeing the name Celest for the first time. But, you probably are, so I'm probably going to have to do some explaining.
Celest is actually good and one of the better lesser known artists to come out lately, in my view at least. There's this British vibe where you think maybe they're like the Verve, but the longer you listen to this EP, the more you'll hear hints of maybe the Cure and probably some other bands from the 80's that I wasn't listening to because I was into Milli Vanilli.
It just seems to be very kind of guitar fueled music that's simple enough, yet technical enough still. It's almost got that quality where it could be pop. Not that it's poppy per se, but just that it could become radio music like U2 (who they don't sound too much like).
For an EP though- five songs- I'm not going to complain like usual and say that it's too short for me to form any real opinions, but if I were to hear more from this artist I'd probably feel.... Rather, I am going to say that this EP is good and I enjoy it.
