(This was done on June 8, 2002 in CBGaV’s van outside of the Empress Ballroom.  If you rearrange the letters of Jonathan Moser, you can spell “an honest major”.  Think about it.)

Josh:  For some reason, I thought you were from Pennsylvania, but you’re not.

Jon:  We’re from everywhere.

Jon:  I’m from Pennsylvania.  Koskas is from Pennsylvania.  Lucas is from DC.   We don’t live very close together.

Josh: So I was partially right.

Jon:  Yeah.

Lucas:  But what we tell people changes.   We’ve told people we’re from New Jersey.

Jon:  Somebody thought that we were from Chapel Hill and that we had broken up. There was a review like, “Remember that band Charlie Brown Gets a Valentine from Chapel Hill? Whatever happened to them?”.

Josh:  There is a band called Linus.   There is a band called Lucy Loves Schroder.

Jon:  Right.

Josh:  Why aren’t you all on tour together?

Lucas:  Call us.

Jon:  Have their people call our people.

Josh:  And it will be a Peanuts tour.

Jon:  Lucy Loves Schroder is that girl’s band.  She put out that solo cd on She’s Gone Records.

Josh:  Fred Savage Fanclub.

(I hear strange music at this point, what the hell?)

Josh: Let’s talk about your label.

Lucas:  No.

Josh:  Do you not wanna talk about it?  ‘Cause I’ve got other stuff we can move on.

Jon:  Yeah, it’s cool.  We like Randy.  He’s a good guy.

Lucas:  Even though he didn’t let us stay at his house.  (laughs)  Yeah, let’s move on.

Josh:  Your MP3.com site says that you’re a pop punk band with songs about girls.  What’s up with that?

Jon:  Does it?

Josh:  I’m not joking, I read that the other day.

Lucas: Well, aren’t they?

Josh:  No.

Jon:  It’s been a long time since anyone’s done anything with that.

Lucas:  Yeah, we’re bad about updating internet stuff.   That’s probably just outdated.

Jon:  I mean, we do sing some songs about girls.

(Enter Koskas)

Lucas:  Ah, you decided you wanted in on the interview after all.

Koskas:  It wouldn’t be an interview if my balls weren’t hanging out.

(I looked away, I swear)

Koskas:  I just came to get my jacket.

Lucas:  Don’t you have a question for him?

Josh:  Yes. Umm...

Koskas:  Four.

Josh:  Wow, that’s weird, it was going to be a number question too.  So you’ve played CT four times before?

Koskas:  No, I’ve never played in CT.  I’ve played in New Hampshire before.

Jon:  This is our first time playing in CT.

Josh:  Then, um... You’ve been in four bands prior to this?

Koskas:  Yes, I have been in at least four other bands.

Josh:  You were, of course, the original drummer for the Get Up Kids.

Koskas:  Wow, see, I don’t even have to answer this, you’re making it up.

Josh:  Can’t one question go right??

(silence for a minute or so)

Josh:  Now I forgot what I want to talk about.

Jon:  I think we wanted to talk about Jesus for a little while.

Lucas:  Who?

Jon:  Jesus.

Josh:  Ok, let’s talk about Jesus.

Jon:  He’s a good guy.

Lucas:  He wouldn’t let us stay at his house.

(everyone laughs)

Josh:  Is there anyone who you don’t think is a slacker?

Jon:  Yeah.

Josh:  Who?  And don’t say me because I am.

Jon: Hmm... I guess most people are slackers.

Josh:  Or lazy.  I like lazy.     Do you feel you’re at a disadvantage not being from New Jersey or Boston?

Jon:  Well, if we all lived in the same place we’d probably practice more often.

(This is when we make fun of the Empress Ballroom for not having a sign and bands never showing up.)

Josh:  I do have more stuff to talk about, I swear.  Ok, maybe I don’t.  I only have one more thing.

Jon:  What is it?

Josh: It’s about your split with A Study In Her.

Lucas:  I don’t wanna talk about it.

Jon:  No comment.

Josh: No!!  Dammit, if anything’s coming out of this.

Jon:  Ok.

Josh:  I thought it was supposed to be out by now.

Jon:  Me too.    Let’s not talk about it and how it’s supposed to be out, let’s just talk about it and how good it is.  And it will be out.   We’re going on a tour to support it.  A Study In Her is the three of us and a different drummer.  And then, as CBGaV, we’re trying out three new songs.  One we played tonight was actually for the first time.   So we’ll have a new full length some time next year.
