the Superbees. Texas Terri & the Stiff Ones. Coyote Shivers. the Newlydeads. So many great bands, so little time to describe them all.
"Badsville" takes a look at these bands in a way like many other videos of the sort will not do. It provides interviews with the bands- parts where they're sitting down discussing music and life- and then also concert footage. The great part about the concert footage in this video is that they often don't cut to just a small clip and half of a song, they actually show you the whole song. I found that to be above par, because most videos these days just seem to show you the clips as opposed to actually the full song like you want to see.
The interview portion is very serious and deep at times- reflections that make you think twice about music and will help you see it and what these bands and people have to go through in a whole new light- and at times it's also very humerous. There were times when I was literally laughing out loud.
Throughout the video, as various people are being interviewed, there are no titles underneath them as you would expect- no names or indication as to who they are exactly. But as you progress through the almost hour and a half that is this video, you actually get to know them to the point where you don't wonder and you don't need the titles to tell you who they are.
For those fans of nudity out there, you actually get to see Terri's tits, even though they are tattooed and she has tape over her nipples. Just thought that was interesting and worth mentioning.
I enjoyed this video on a whole, and it's definitely one I will be showing to my friends and anyone else who claims they know music.
