What drove these four individuals to make a sound such as this is beyond me, but I enjoy it. Taking a band that could be emo and adding a keyboard seems fairly normal, because there are emo bands with keyboards. But when you combine the keyboard in such a way that Alison Ranger has done, you've created a whole new and unique sound. Starting with guitar, bass and drums that could be emo or pop punk, then turning into keyboard solos that could be mistaken for Beethoven, and then coming back to an almost hardcore sound complete with screaming is what makes Alison Ranger stand out in a sea of bands that all sound generally alike. This CD is comprised of six songs, but they also do have a tape out there with four other songs on it. I suggest you get your hands on these ten songs some how- and fast.
