WHAT TO DO IF THE ANIMAL IS ALIVE???? The following tips are geared towards domestic animals, which are accustomed to human contact. ***An injured animal will be afraid, and thusly aggressive. So, be sure your approach is calm, and please speak softly......... ***A blanket is a useful tool, in that it will allow you to remove the animal from the road, and help to prevent shock if the animal's injuries are severe... ***If the animal is unconscious but breathing, it will be easier to move from the road, but keep a watchful eye for signs of waking up.............. ***Tuck the blanket or raincoat,or rag whatever your using, in tight along the animals side.......Then gently turn the animal onto it's side so it is laying on the blanket.....Then gently pull the blanket with the animal laying on it...to the side of the road. ***Remember, again to check for a collar and possibly an owners telephone number...A call only takes a minute, and I can guarantee the owner's will be grateful.........................................
