Can you say…Death Match? At the RWA’s second Pay-Per-View event “Desolation” Christian won his first title, the RWA World Championship against Albert in a match for those with extreme taste. The match featured everything from barbed wire ropes to deadly C4 Explosives! Analysis/Highlights- the match started in the ring, as Albert was the first to be sent flying into the barbed wire ropes. Albert fought back, wrapping Christian up in the barbed wire, and then slamming him onto one of the C4 boards! After a brawl on the outside with various hardcore weapons, Christian brought a sheet of glass into the ring, (Christian had previously competed in a Glass Match against Tazz on another RWA show) and slammed the big man through it, in an amazing display of strength. Somehow Albert fought back, as Christian was slammed onto another of the C4 boards! Christian then whipped Albert, and sent him right through the barbed wire ropes, breaking them in half! Christian executed some high risk manoeuvres, before returning to the ring with the champion. Albert powered out of an Unprettier, and backdroped his challenger into a barbedwire board! The champion looked to be in firm control, until out of nowhere; Christian flipped off the turnbuckle and landed on Albert. He rolled the big man up, for the 3 count andthe RWA Title! After the match, Christian’s brother Edge and friend Kurt Angle embrace with the new champion in the ring. Both Albert and Christian put on tremendous performances in this career ending match. I particularly remember this main event as the match started Christian’s whole “Reeking of Awsomness” era in the RWA. This Death Match, a first for RWA goes down in my books as a memorable match in the FigureFeds short history. Great job to Big Ass Monkey and the RWA team, this was one superb match!
