Named for Grace Hopper, the programming genius who coined the term "bug" for a code problem..
Karmen Hopper, Feb 2001 - 8 April 2003
Sweet podgy Hopper left us Tuesday night. She had no signs of ill health and had in fact been scheduled to have her lump removed that day, but our vet had called in sick and postponed the surgery. So I thank grace that her last day on earth was spent at home and waddling around the apartment like how she belonged. Anyway it appears she had some sort of stroke or something--she was just walking a little funny, so I took her into my lap to investigate, and she gasped and flailed for a few seconds, then was gone. Dave was still on the line to the vet trying to ask if we could bring her in right away.
My fat girl had grown so close to me over the past few months. She had taken to following me around the apartment like a lovelorn puppy. Once when I shut her out of the restroom so I could do my business (yes, I know it's sweet of her to want to supervise, but really, now!), she plonked down right outside the door, and her tail slid underneath. She was so unbelievable cuddly and schmoogly. :*

Flash Lepton, Feb 2001 - 14 Dec 2003
After a final happy meal of crab claws and butternut squash, Lepton went to join her sister.
She had struggled with multiple tumours and two surgeries over the last six months of her life, and we didn't want to see her go through any more, so she lived with her last tumours until she was no longer able to enjoy life.
She was happy and content and loving and loved until the end.
See more Lepton!
