Florida Skunk Roach

The Florida Skunk roach is a roach that lives up to its name. When scared or threatened it excretes a liquid like substance that most smells quite bad. I think it smells like air freshener. Sean disagrees with me. They breed at a very rapid pace and lay a very large eggsac(very noticable in a cage)that containes usually 40-50 eggs. For some reason they are the same strange redish-maroon color from head to abdomen except for a small band I think is their thorax. As usual this roach is a good herp food item. They will eat assorted vegatables, fruit, and dog food. And as all glass climers they require a 2in. layer of vaseline to keep them from getting out. Because the babies(when they first hatch) are small enough to clime over the vasaline, a container with a stocking or panty hoe is needed. This is a very interesting breed of roach because of its ability to make hissing noises (probably the sound of the defensive spray.)
