Link

Link is the choosen warrior of the Triforce from Legend of Zelda. Link battles to save the Kingdom of Hyrule from the clutchs of the evil Ganon. Regardless of the game, Link always has his sword and shield to fight he enemies. He always uses all sorts of nifty gadgets such as bombs, the hook shot, or the boomerang to help him out.

Strategy: Link is mostly a melee fighter. All his attacks are either hand-to-hand or medium range. Try to stay in close to an opponent, except grapplers, which will slaughter Link with his low defense.
Battle-plan: Grapplers need to stay in close (always of course). Most others should shower Link with projectiles or keep him back with their own middle range attacks.
Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Sword Strikes or Master Sword
  • Sweep Combo, Heavy Artillery or Bomb Roll

  • Ganon

Ganon is the evil wizard trying to take control of Hyrule. This sorcerer uses whatever powers he can access to destroy his enemies. Even after being killed in the first game, he reachs out from beyond the grave to conquer Hyrule and get revenge on his killer.

Strategy: Being a magic user, Ganon is a distance fighter. Although he has decent power, his low defense makes it all but impossible to fight in-close. Stay back, stay alive.
Battle-plan: Other distance fighters should bombard Ganon with attacks, don't let him use his own. Most others should move in carefully.
    Combos:
  • Sweep Combo, Shadow Burst or Shadow Pillar
  • Chain Combo, Dark Magic or Magical Blast

  • Young Link

In Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, you get to play Link as a child. Young Link has many of the same moves as older Link, but is much weaker. He also appeared in Smash Brothers Melee.

Strategy: Not bad for a little kid, but Young Link is not a great fighter. He is quick, but his melee skills are poor, meaning he deals little damage and takes a lot more in return. If he can move fast enough, Young Link can be a decent fighter, but it takes a lot of practice.
    Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Master Strike or Master Knife Cut
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Air Strike or Master Knife Slash
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Air Combo, Master Knife Slash
    Similar Fighters: Link

  • Gannondorf

The villain in the Ocarina of Time. Gannondorf is related to Ganon from the original Zelda games, but I don't know how. He also makes an appearance in Smash Brothers as a Captain Falcon knock-off. Since the only knowledge I have is from SMM, that's where I stole him from.

Strategy: Gannondorf plays like what he is, a slower, more powerful version of Captain Falcon. That's it.
    Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Dark Blow or Warlock Fist or Hellish Acrobat
  • Sweep Combo, Warlock Boot or Hellish Acrobat
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Air Combo, Super Crash
    Similar Fighters: Captain Falcon

Stats: Power: Energy: Defense: Speed: Strength: D Weakness: H Ratio: 2 Size: M

    Special Moves:
Dark Blow*: Hops forward with a rising uppercut attack. (D)

Super Crash: Jumps upward (T) and blows the enemy away with a dark force. (D)(A)
Snap Dragon: Holds his leg over his head and snaps it down for a powerful hit. Charge for damage (D)

Violent Snap: A hyper version of Snap Dragon. Charge for both more range and more damage. (D)

Enter: Stands in place, summoning dark energy to himself
Taunt: Floats in place while laughing
Victory: Crosses his arms and tries to look evil.

  • Sheik

An assassin that hunts Link. The identity of Sheik is unknown, only that he is extremely dangerous. Like many Nintendo fighters, based on the Smash Brothers Fighter.

Strategy: Sheik is a good example of a middle ranged fighter. He attacks have a lot of variety when it comes to ranges. Wind Cutter is anti-air, razor wire is medium range and Knife Gather is long range. The only place Sheik doesn't work well at is melee range, because few of his moves are fast enough to work on nearby enemies.
    Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Knife Gathering (no charge) or Point of Daggers
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Air Combo, Forerunning Storm
  • Sweep Combo, Double Sweeper, Point of Daggers
    Similar Fighters: None

    Stats: Power: 4 Energy: 5 Defense: 3 Speed*: 8 Ratio: 2 Size: M

    Special Moves:
Wind Cutter*: Flies up feet first, with a spinning kick attack. 4 hits
Razor Wire*: Throws out a garrote wire. (C) If hit, Sheik jokes his victim
Knife Gathering*: Reaches into his belt. Release button to throw knifes. The longer it is charged, the more hits.
  • Sheik can move slowly while charging this move. Maximum of 40 hits.
Double Sweeper: Sweeps his arms up his sides, then slams them both down. 4 hits
Explosion Portal: An explosive teleport. Can hurt nearby enemies (F)
Basic Throw: Knees his victim several times, then throws with his leg. 5 hits
    Launcher: He kicks straight up

    Hyper Attacks:
Point of Daggers*: Quickly throws 37 knifes straight ahead.
Twine Attack: Throws his garrote (T) drags forward for a hanging with a thin wire.
Fore-running Storm*: Does a wind cutter straight up. 10 hits (A)

Enter: Drops out of the shadows
Taunt: Looks at his opponent with extreme annoyance
Victory: Holds his chin between his thumb and forefinger
