First Round

Match 1 Damion Vs Vanessa

Vanessa starts off our tourney with Dian Keto. Damion gets a Skullie w/ Nuzzy out fast, but gets javelined. Ness Despells D’s Toon World as he fights through her Nimbles, giving her 1000 LPs a pop. Ness also Despells Nuzzy, and Damion plays another one. Ness is exposed while D has a Gumo and now an Axe of Despair on his Skullie. Ness has to Solemn Judgement the attack, though it cost more than Skullie’s 3500 ATK woulda been. Ness manages to put up a little Def. with her Wall of Illusion, but Damion busts through with a Harpie’s Bro. and Skullie when D’s Hane-Hane returns the Ill Wall back to her hand. Round 1 to Damion, 7450-0.
Round 2
Ness ain’t going down without a fight, like she can’t handle her old man or somethin’! Both start off going for Def. the D’s 7Fish again fights thru the Nimbles. Ness comes back with Mechanicalchaser (yeah, that right!) filets 7Fish. D flips a Ladybug o’ Doom and chases chaser away. Ness comes with a Harpie’s Bro that gets Javelined and then Fissured for his trouble. Then her Darkfire Soldier got Trap Holed. Damion responds with Tremendous Fire, the Nukes (Dark Holes) the field and slaps down a Bro. in attack. Ness attacks and KOs Bro, then Monster Reborns her Chaser. D is in Def. while Ness tribes for a facedown and then activates Gravekeeper’s Servant. So now D must pay a card for each attacking monster he plays. Of course D thinks twice now and goes in Def. mode. Ness plays 7Fish but runs into Damion’s dreaded Mirror Force. But Servant still has D shook. Ness gets up a Skullie that wails on D until he and Ness’ 7Fish prove their point. We tied with Round 2 to Ness, 5400-0.
Final Round, Fight!!
Both players set up their Def. cards, until Ness’ Chaser hits a Steel Scorpion, so it dies in 2 rounds. Harpie’s Bro gets snagged in Ness’ Nimbles again as she fissures Bro and sacs Chaser for a Face Down Monster. D calls up LaJinn and Jirai Gumo goes in for the attack while Ness still goes for Def. Damion clears her monsters with Raigeki and Gumo goes in for some LPs. Ness comes back with a Nuke to give herself some breathing room, but D still gets a Skullie up to attack. Her attempts to Fissure it get Magic Jammed, so she plays a Paralyzing Potion on Skullie. D plays Mysterious Puppeteer for a LP boost, then locks up their fields with Chain Energy. Ness Despells it and suicides a Karate Man, but its damage is Wabuko’d. D Final Flames and flips a Magician of Faith, getting a card out of his graveyard. Ness has a Sanga of Thunder now, destroying Damion’s Skullie. D changes the field with Mystic Plasma Zone, played his re-used Raigeki and ends it with a Goblin Attack Force. That’s match to Damion, 8550-0. I hope there is still some love in the house after this!!

Match 2 John Vs Darren

John goes first with a 7Fish str8 up. I fissure it and play Hayabusa Knight with (check this out) 2x Nuzzy off gate for some LP hits. Man that woulda been awesome had he not played WABUKO!! But his counter is equally smooth as he plays Change of Heart on my ‘Busa and rocks me for the same damage I was hoping for, 4800 LPs! I Trunade the field and attack with Gumo and my Super-Busa, taking him to 1000LPs in one battle phase. John goes Def. and Fissures both my monsters. So now I’m on Def. too, but I smell blood! My LaJinn bumps his MOFaith, and John gets back COH and flips a ManBug to work against my LaJinn, but threw himself wide open with that 450ATK Bug to welcome my GAF in the face. Round one to Darren, 2750-0.
Round 2
John goes Def. and me the same. I get Gearfield out and hit ManBug. John plays his staple card, Dark Elf, which I fissure. John COH my Ladybug, I Magic Drain and he pays and attacks me. I go for Gumo, but he gets Trap Holed. John tries to Despell a card of mine, but I successfully get a Drain this time. John plays his MOF, Fissures me and attacks. I call on my Bro, packing a Horn of Uni and Megamorph, going in to ream his open MOF, but Wabuko again! I hit a Mystic Elf in Def and another MOF. John goes to Nuke me, but I play Imperial Order (Oukast Card, look at all that glitter!) and cut that right on out. He plays Robbin’ Goblin (for why I don’t know). I just swam him next round for the kill. Match to the kid, 2900-0. Up against Damion yet again!

Match 3 Brian Vs Karl

Brian starts off strong with a Bro while Karl goes Def. Rookie goes ahead and sacrifices for Curse of Dragon. Karl Fissures Curse and keeps the Def. growing. Brian plays Ookazi and lays down a monster. Karl finally attacks with a Bro, but the Rookie comes back with Reliable Guardian to save his Def. monster for 1 more round. Seems like someone was paying attention last week! Brian sacrifices for his own Skullie (wipe away tear, they grow so fast!) and attacks, though Karl goes Javelin on the damage. Karl goes BEWD and gives it a fierce Horn of Uni, making her a whopping 3800ATK. Suffice it to say a few rounds later and Brian is lying in a pool of his own innards, thanks to the bashing of Blue Eyes and Skullie. Round 1 to Karl.
Round 2
Both guys Def. off top. Brian plays Light of Intervention, so no more facedowns! He gets stung by a pack of Karl’s Giant Germs. Karl sacs for another Baby Blue and cleans out Brian’s D. Brian Ground Collapses in a last ditch effort, but Karl then brings out Jinzo and rocks Brian to sleep with a devastating hit to the LPs. Brian draws another card and concedes like a biatch. Take yo’ conceding ass outta here! Match to Karl, 7500-1700.

Match 4 Drew Vs Brandon

Brandon goes 1st and plays Lockdown (2x Ground Collapse, pay attention) off gate, so now Drew can only play 1 monster. Drew gets a Dian Keto and a frown for his next turn. Plays Shadow Scout, that’s about it. Brandon plays BEWD and runs the scout off the field. Drew plays Spellbinding Circle on BEWD. Brandon Card Destructs and brings out Jinzo. Now that Spellbinding Circle ain’t working, it’s on! Both beat the hell outta Drew. Round 1 to Brandon.
Round 2
Brandon Ground Collapses again while Drew jukes up his LPS with Dian Keto/ Red Medicine. Brandon play’s LaJinn and hits Shadow Scout, which makes Drew lose a COH. Drew’s Dark Hole is Magic Drained and Brandon COH LaJinn and plays him to attack Drew’s LPs. Brandon then flips MOFaith again and again COH his LaJinn to turn on Drew. Drew plays Sparks, but Brandon then quits playing around and brings out Jinzo to send Drew to the house. Match to Brandon.

SemiFinals

Match 1, Damion Vs Darren

I play Neo off top and get Nobleman of Crossout to destroy his Nuzzy. D played Darkfire Soldier to KO my Neo. I sac for Blue Eyes and, feeling good, I run and hit Mirror Force! D fissures my Def. monster and attack with a Gumo and 7Fish for 4000LP damage. Well, now I’m woozy. I play Bro with Nuzzy and Megamorph and fry 7Fish. I then play my Gumo to take out his Gumo and my 7Fish end the match with my sensei. Round 1 to Darren.
Round 2
I open with a Bro. in Atk. mode and D goes Def. Now I set LaJinn and start my attack, hitting an Ameoba of all cards (so say I COH Ameoba, I take 3000 LP damage, I was thinking of doing this myself, seeing how popular COH/Sacrifice around here). By now I have 2 LaJinns with my Bro., but D holds me off with a Mystical Elf. I juke my field up to 4 1800Atk monsters with my 2nd Bro., but can’t get past D’s Elf wall. By now D sacs his 2 Def. cards for BEWD and starts going thru my boys like hell. I keep my monsters in Atk. mode case I get a break, but they start to fall out 1 by 1. I sac 2 of my boys for my own Baby Blue, but mine gets Trap Holed! So I Reborn my BEWD and KOed both Dragons off the field. D plays a Puppeteer and Chain Energy (you know, 500LPs to set cards) a while I flip a MOFaith to get my Monster Reborn to get my Baby Blue back on the field. I blow away the Puppeteer and MOF gets a cheap lick in on D’s LPs. By now I got some room to move, so I play Nobleman of Extermination on D’s Def. card and flip a facedown Skullie and bring out Hayabusa Knight. I go thru a wave of D’s Nimbles as D plays a Ryu-Powered to take out my MOFaith. But I simply Fissure Ryu and BEWD, Skullie and ‘Busa Knight take their master to the Finals! Finally, the Kid goes to the Big Table!! WOOOOT! But, whom will I meet there?

Match 2: Karl Vs. Brandon

So, the next generation marches towards us. Brandon kicked our collective asses last week with his terrible Ground Collapses and Jinzo-beatings. However, Karl’s deck is almost identical to Brandon’s, having a rare Jinzo of his own to back him up. Both are excellent duelists and have the biggest concentration of Pharaoh’s Servant b/w them. So who would the Egyptian Kings choose as their favorite? Karl goes for the Bro. to start it off. Brandon gets Pot O’ Greedy and goes Def. Karl hits the requisite Nimble batch while Brian gets out his Skullie and enacts a Solemn Wishes. Karl Fissures the Skull and goes in with his own LaJinn. Karl brings out a Dark Zebra, which activates a Ladybug and clears him out. Brandon gets back in it with a Darkfire Soldier #2 while Karl goes Def. to get his bearings right. Brandon plays his staple, Tribute of the Doomed and wipes out Karl’s monster. No matter, cuz Karl COHearts fireboy for the dreaded Jinzo. After a little skirmish, Brandon brings out, loses and Reborns BEWD and goes through Karl’s attempts like a cheap cigarette. Round 1 to our champ, Brandon, 3825-0.
Round 2
No good notes like last time, y’all. These piss-poor accounts are definitely the work of a rookie! Just take note that Karl beats Brandon to tie the match up.
Final Round, fight!
Well we have to go the quick route again, looks like Karl ran through him quickly a second time. Could be it was so fast, we didn’t need to note it. Damn, now that would be an asswhuppin’ there! But our first champ becomes first chump at the hands of Karl, so we are going to have a new head up under the famed
Yu-Ghett-Oh! Pimp’n Crown!

Final Match: Darren Vs. Karl!

So, finally the roomies have an official match at the Big Table! I taught Karl like Damion taught me, so would it be another Sensei upset or could the Kid finally open the precious packs and finally be known as a winner in his own realm? I don’t expect an easy win, so I just go for what I know. Well, damn, someone actually took notes this time, so read on!!

Round 1

I put a card in Def. and Karl does the same. I get a 7Fish to attack, but just hit his Soldier of Stone for a nick of LPs. I keep on with 7Fish until I get through his other cards and finally sac him for a Skullie, but get Trap Holed. Karl attacks my LPs with a Harpie’s Bro., so now I am on the defensive. Karl destroys my Sangan, so now I try and search through my deck for a lil’ relief. Karl has 3 monsters up now, and sacs for his guy Mr. Volcano and still hits me with his Bro. Finally, I put my card down and Karl’s Bro. reveals it: CYBER JAR! Finally! So the field is cleared and we draw. So at least now I have a couple monsters to work with, notably Jirai Gumo. Karl still attacks with his new LaJinn to move away one of his Def. monsters. I Fissure his LaJinn and attack with my Gumo, and of course, lose the flip and on top of it, get Wabuko’d. So that was a complete waste! Karl sacs up for Judge Man and attack my 7Fish and put me under his imposing Ground Collapse. I Typhoon his GCollapse and flip my MOFaith and Fissure his Judge Man. I try and summon LaJinn, but get Holed again! So I gamble with Gumo again to hit his LPs. I get the hit, but lose the flip. Man, sometimes playing with Gumo is a complete pain. So my last move is to activate my Solemn Wishes. Things look about even until Karl decides to Nuke the field with Dark Hole, but a handy Imperial Order helps me stay in it. But he takes his frustration on my hapless MOFaith. I do get 500LPs thanks to Wishes and go to attack Karl with my 3 beasts: LaJinn, Darkfire Soldier and Jirai Gumo. For the 3rd time, I lose the flip, but get my point across to him with a huge hit. Karl Fissures and plays Call of the Haunted to bring back Judge Man to attack my LaJinn. I am almost out at this point, or woulda been out if not for Solemn Wishes. I attack with Gumo once more, losing the flip, but at this point, it doesn’t matter much. Gumo and Bro. get me the win and knock Karl out. Round 1 to me, barely at 450-0.
Round 2
Of course, this is the beginning of a hard-fought Match b/w pupil and teacher. Just as I get a perverse joy in beating Damion in a match, I’m sure Karl wants to feel that same sensation tonight! Only one round separates me from the holy Booster Packs, so on with the next match.
Karl goes first and plays Battle Ox straight up. I go Def. and Karl sacs for a Def. card as well. I play my Gearfried to flip that card and get stung by Karl’s Lab Wall. So Karl has a hearty Def. up and plays a Gumo and traps Ultimate Offering to play a Dark Zebra which KOs itself and my Gearfried. I play LaJinn, but can’t beat up his Gumo, so I have to stay pat. With Ult. Offering out, he just pays 500LP to get an extra summon. It really is beating me down, especially when he plays a Darkfire and sacs for a Skullie in the same round. My LaJinn cowers in fear as Skullie knocks that ass out. So now I’m bitched into Def. as Karl brings out some extra Def. of his own. His Skullie hits my Ladybug, but only his Gumo is lost. The Lab Wall and Skullie are both over four starts. I finally destroy Ult. Offering, but I feel like that’s a little too late. Karl is going thru my monsters like 10-cent hookers, while I manage to get his Gumo out with a Goblin Attack Force, though it does nothing to his strategy. Karl plays a Bro. to the field and is in my LPs with Skullie and a flipped Giant Germ. He finally calls out a Judge Man to end this asswhippin’ and not a moment too soon. Damn, Karl! Round easily to Karl, 6400-0.

Final Round, Fight!!

So, its one to one, anyone’s game. I finally get to where my talent should have me, but obviously, one wrong move and Karl is going to be ripping those Boosters at the end of the night. So who will triumph? Final Round… Fight!!
After losing the last round, I leave nothing to chance and go first. I play a Gearfried in attack mode and Karl GC’s me and goes Def. I play a Dark Zebra to attack, but hit a Soldier, just like before. Karl KOs with a Bro. Vs. my Dark Zebra. I flip a Ladybug to take out his Soldier and then go for LPs with it and Gearfried. Karl activates Solemn Wishes and plays a LaJinn, but I actually have a Trap Hole and bye-bye LaJinn! I put down a Def. monster, and Gearfried will get tap those LPs. Karl is on the ropes as my Gearfield (which I hold Equip cards, but can’t use on him) goes through his Giant Germs. I finally play Heavy Storm to get rid of those pesky Mizchure cards he loves to play and end it with good ol’ Gumo and his Puppeteer thanks to my Change of Heart. So finally, the Kid wins his own tourney! I get the Match and the Tourney, 7100-0. Yay!

So of course, we have no pictures to accompany my brilliant victory and I forget what cards I got out of the packs, they were that good J! Seriously, it was a Giant Rat and Morphing Jar #2 and a couple dupes on my end, but I was thrilled to take the crown of Yu-Ghett-Oh! Champion, at least till next week. So y’all come back now, ya hear?

Take yo' ass home!
