Razzle Dazzle

Well, the game started off well with the lizards getting an extra card on a roll of 6.  sadly, the most effective card was probably Bribe the ref, as it allowed me to stay even with him on players on defense.  Spite was ok, as it kept his DT player off the field in the first half, but in the second, he was a pain in the butt as my standfirm with any measurable strength, was sitting in the box napping.  He began his attack with some suspect blocking.  He knocked down all 3 players, but managed no damage until the foul for a badly hurt.  Still even on players, we began slugging it out in the middle of the field.  I was keeping just ahead of him on the hitting game, and slowly wearing him down.  Souly decided to play it risky and move his ball carrier into the open to draw out my wizard.  I removed his protecting player and brought down his ball handler.  The next turn, my players shot through the gap and made a break for the endzone.  I sent two skinks deep so I could protect against the wiz taking me out on turn 7.  souly chose to not play his cards or wizard that half, and after slugging it out a little more, one of my players slipped through.  I had 1 player in the badly hurt box, and 5 in the KO box.  Sadly, only one guy in the KO Box, decided to come back.  I fielded 11 for the last turn and figured I couldn’t take too much damage.  I was wrong.  He managed to put 2 of my LoS in the cas box, causing 1 mng and 1 more badly hurt.  I did no damage and the half ended.  I received second half, but sadly, only one more player decided to come on out of the KO box, meaning that I would have to play with only 10 in the second half, and we still hadn’t seen a card from souly.  Things were looking bleak.  He had his wizard, and that wasn’t a good thing.  I received and managed to do pretty much nothing.  As a matter of fact, the 3 casualties I did in the first half would be the last I got of the game.  I pounded and fouled, pounded and fouled and managed to get nowhere at all.  Souly on the other hand, kept up his great hitting game and would pour on 5 more casualties that half.  He managed to take down my ball carrier and start a mad scrum and even get away with it at one point.  Luckily he didn’t use his cards when it could have helped and tried a handoff to his bull, fearing our last remaining card.  The ball hit the ground, and I decided to put every body I could on the ball to make it tough.  I blitzed with a dauntless skink and took out one of his players back there, and that left one to hit the skink, and his last ball handler.  He finally remembered his wizard, after knocking down uncle chu, and fireballed to clear the path for his dp.  The ball took out one player, leaving one on the ball, he blitzed him and managed no pows at all, opting not to use his rakarths obliteration spell.  He figured 6 dice would net one pow, and he could use his cards in OT.  He was wrong.  His dirty player danced in and picked up the ball on a roll of 6, then dodged, rolling a 2 for a failure, then a 1 and falling over.  And the game ended with a pathetic thump of his player hitting the turf.  This was not a game for the ages, and he didn’t even use a card.  Its simple, I should have lost this game but I got lucky.
