This girl that Cloud meets in his adventure has a strange past. Her mother died at a train station and Aeris was adopted by a woman who was waiting for her husband that died in the war but she didn't know that. Aeris is a very courageous person. You'll find this out in the the second disk when you learned that she knew she would die at the city of the ancients. Even though she died she still helped save the earth by summoning Holy.
