New Motherboard On the Way
Good news.. Bad news... Good news is a new motherboard has been purchased and is on the way. If everything else I have works the shard should be up and running soon. Now the bad news. According to UOgateway, no new servers can be added right now. until its fixed. and its been down for more then a month now since January 28th. so even when we DO get the damn computer going again we still cant add the stupid thing back on UOgateway. Everyone will have to come to the shard manually. also meaning we probably wont get any new people for a long time.

Motherboard Kaput
I now have gotten everything I need to get the computer up and running again, except that the motherboard itself is now broken. Hopefully at the end of January I can get a new motherboard. However it may be a while even still before I can get a running computer again, due to the fact that everything I own now is old, and out dated, and will probably not work in any motherboard I get. This means that I may have to start buying everything I need again from scratch. New memory, new CPU chips, and probably new video card.

Down for the count!!
Well as many of you may have guessed, I seem to be haveing some techinal difficulties. The computer has yet again decided to quit working. This time it really has hit me with a wallop.

At first it was just a simple problem. I needed to reinstall windows, well seeing how i haven't had a working cd rom drive in Oh... 3 months? I kinda cant do that. Well I got an older drive, and tried to install that and it didn't work either. Then while messing around in the inside of the Main body of the computer, I think something shorted out the power pack. At least that's what I HOPE has happened. If its more then just the power pack that is blown, then it could be as bad as the whole motherboard itself may have a short now.

I really can't complain too much. The motherboard by todays standards, is really a dinaosar but since it was top of the line when it was new, it could run with the best of them.

Untill I know something further, there's really not alot I can do as far as getting the shard onto another computer. It would mean ataching the drive to some other computer (probably my brothers or sisters if they are willing to let my paws on their systems) to get the files I need off, and given to another person to take over the shard, or wait for me to get a working computer again, which may take a long time, considering my current money problems...

Change Log: November
***LAST UPDATE: Nov. 25th 2006***
I decided to try and start something new this time around. A change log. Although about 80% of the small bug fixes I always do will never be noticed by players, there are a great deal of the larger ones that are a problem, and players and staff might like to know exactly how it is that I am spending my time hehe.

This First change log is for everything that was added to AK2 (this version of the shard) prior to this date.


Newly Installed Items/Systems:

Nov. 25th 2006:
Ore Wood and Leathers (OWL):
The long awaited for ore wood and leather system has been added. Improvments and bug fixes will be added and corrected as needed. There are now 19 kinds of ores and wood types, and 18 leather types, including the 5 new fur types for fur crafting. While mining players may have a chance to dig up one of 42 diffrent gem gems, as well as fossils, and unknown corpses. Lumberjacks may have a chance to get one of the new rare "Mondain's Legacy" resources that will be later used for crafting certain artifacts. There is also a crystal mining, and crafting system being developed, altho its not finished yet, and a house builing craft which will use the Timber, and Lumber logs that Lumber jacks get, the granate, from mining, sand from mining, and soon to be clay to make diffrent house deeds. Silver ingots is not currently used, but will be included in a Silversmith craft, and jewelry making using the 42 gems.

Agriculture: The Agriculture system we had before, has been readded, better then ever. there are now more then 80 growable crops, including some of the reagents needed for spell casting, and many many ingrediants needed for the new massive cooking system. cooks sell all the tools needed now to cook. there is a frying craft usign the skillet, baking craft using the bakers board, boiling, using the cook's kettle, and grilling using the frying pan.

There is also a alchoal craft and juice craft. The Wine makers will sell the tools for wine making, and the brewers for the other alchoalic drinks, and juice makers will sell the tools needed for making the juices.

Beekeepers now sell be hives which players can use to collect wax, and honey. And I do have plans to re-add in our old wax craft for speical wax items.

There would be no true farmers, with out the ability to milk cows. Players can purchase milk buckets, and milk bottles from the farm hands, as well as a cheese form to make cheeses. You can also milk sheep, and goats.

Nov. 10th 2006:
Battle Chess: At nu'jolem, there are three large chess boards set up. You and a friend, can play chess on the boards using the control stone. It follows all the standard rules of chess.


World Spawner: This is a spawn package to place vendors, monsters, creatures, telemeters, moongates, any many other things in the world.

All Spells Package: This is an install of many different spell types.

Shard News, and Current Events: Two windows that pop up when you log in to give you some news about what is going on, both Shard Status Wise, and Role Play.

Multiple Currencies, Silver and Gold: This is an atempt to somewhat stabalize the economy by adding a second form of money that is more common then gold. This will be balanced as needed.

Halloween Stuff: As years before, Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I try to go all out.

Human Elf, and Undead Races:
This is the basic foundation for the Human, Elf, and the start of the Undead Races. Lycans and Vampires are also to be included in this package once finished.

Arriana's Quest: A Simple new player quest that alows players to do a few tasks and get a decent item to start out their adventures.

Sickness System: SIcknesses will randomly strike players every so often. Two of the sicknesses include the Vampire Captureing, and Lycan Captureing where you are asked if you wish to take part in in the event or not.

Town Houses: A system that allows players to buy otherwise unused property in the world, and rent inn rooms. Pink Signs mean it's rentable per charged per day, Green Signs mean it's rentable per charged per week, Yellow Signs mean it's rentable per charged per month, and White Signs mean it's a purchasable house, building, or property.

Chat: A chat system that lets players communicate with each other by using [chat to bring up the list of who is on.

Hunger & Thirst: system that checks a players hunger and thirst and ticks away mana and stamana, if it is low, and kills them after a short duration if it reaches 0. Players can check their Hunger/Thirst by saying either [Hunger or [Thirst.


Bug Fixes with Previous Installed Systems/Items:


Chat: Because we had sevral issues with the new version of the chat system, we reinstalled the original version of the chat system we had on AK1.

Town Houses And Inns: I finally fixed the remaining bugs with the town houses and inns, and plan to start setting them up ass soon as possible.

New Spells: The new scrolls for the new spells, and abilities where not spawning as loot. Scribes, now sell the spell books needed for these spells. Fixed more problems with The Necromancer spell book, and added some of the "keywords" books to the scribes sell list. Keywords help you figure out what commands to use for casting spells.

Hunger & Thirst: When I first installed the hunger and thirst system it didn't do everything that it was supost to do. When you reached 0 it was supost to kill you. And if you where getting hungry you'd randomly loose mana or stamana, and get messages sauing that your getting hungry or thirsty. Right now you can go below 0 hunger, without dieing, and you get no messages. Hopefully with the restart here at 7AM CST, that will be fixed.

Halloween Stuff: Fixed an issue with the chocolate daemons showing up as lanterns. If you have one of the old ones, let me know and I will fix it for you.

Multiple Currencies, Silver and Gold: Fixed vendors gold in their backpack amounts, Escortable Rewards, and Loot for killing them. Fixed Champions "Gold Rain" to make them Silver Coins instead. Changed the Begging Skill to more suit the Currency System (Sill buggy).
Increased Silver on Most monsters. and adjusted the treasure chest loot. Created a new tithing menu for paladins to be able to use silver, or gold.

World Changes:
***Note untill each the patch is avalible for download, players, and staff members will not be able to see some of the changes, and they will appear to be hitting an invisible wall in some places.***

Nov. 25th 2006:
Fixed 3 bad map tiles Near Trinsic.
Added Road Signs at all major road intersections in traammel, and at road intersections to most of the shops In Yew Trammel.

Nov. 17th 2006:
Lycan town has been finished and added to next patch.
A problem with Zento City has been fixed and added for next patch.
A problem with the wood elf town has been fixed and added for the next patch.
Two problems with the vampire town have been fixed, and added to the next patch.
Problems with the Egyptain Pryamid have been fixed and added to the next patch.
A small problem with the Half-Celestial town has been fixed and added to the next patch.
A problem with the apartments in Moonglow has been fixed and added to the next patch.
A small map glitch near minoc has been fixed and added to the next patch.
A small missing water tile, has been fixed and added to the next patch.
Daniel's Office has been changed, to be able to be edited after the next patch.
The Red and Green Chess board has been added to the next patch.
Some problems with some trees at the Jousting Arena, have been fixed and added to the next patch.
Some magic crystals have been added to the boat race tracked, and added to the next patch.
The Checker Board in Nu'Jelm has been added to the next patch.
A fence for a tamers in Cove has been added and added to the next patch.
A fence for a house in Lakeshire has been added to the next patch.
A missing wall on the blacksmith ship in Lakeshire has been added to the next patch.
A road to the new entrance to Bedlam in Malas has been added to the next patch.
Some circle of stone formations for Nu'Jelm, Cove, and Serpents Hold moongates, where added to the next patch.
New Hues (some for the new metals) have been added to the next patch.

Other Misc. Fixes:

Nov. 25th 2006:
Fixed major crash issue with drinking potions with a shield equipt.
Fixed an issue with pelts, and cut furs not displaying their names right, or the amount.
Changed a few of the foods to look more like the foods that they supost to be.

Nov. 20th 2006:
Fixed Bug with Poison Ivy Patch poisoning creatures normally Immune to that kind of poison.
Fixed issue with corpse explosion giving you a message that there wasn't an unexploded corpse nearby even if there was.
Fixed Antlion Loot, and gave it its normal speical abilities to Dig tunnels, and Spit Poison.
Fixed major crash issue with drinking potions with a shield equipt.

Nov. 18th 2006:
Fixed an issue with solen workers giving more gold then solen warriors.
Increased the decay time for bones of players from 7 min to 15 min.
Varrious Vendor fixes, including spawning cooks, and waiters in Skara Brae, Spawning Escortable NPCs through out some towns instead of just at the docks, Spawned Hireable NPCs in some towns, and Fixed Sailors Title from "the sailot" to "the sailor",
Weapons once they reach 0 durability will now be destroyed. Armors and shields will also be fixed soon.(be warned and warn a friend)

Known Bugs:
Female changeing hair does not work correctly during character creation.
Players can not use powerscrolls yet.
Druids do not have a way to get regs yet.
There are no NPCs that train necromancy yet.
There is an issue with chooseing a race, and not getting the EA/OSI racial benifits, or haveing them for the wrong race.
Undead Players can still get sick.
Vampires, and Lycans have no abilities yet, and can not feed.
Some of the Rogue abilities either do not work, or don't appear to do anything.
After Dyeing, players all become human bodied again.

Messages of the week for November
NOV/02/2006: Sorry about the down time last night Had a few things happen, a power failure, and the network cable came unpluged.

NOV/05/2006: The town houses, and Inn Rooms are starting to be setup all over the world. Pink Signs are rentable charge per day, Green Signs, are rentable charge per week, Yellow Signs are rentable charge per Month, and White Signs, are purchasable housing (For examples see the Haven Inn, or the signs at Haven Plaza). Nujolem Battle Chess has been set up and ready for players to play. It will soon appear on the new moongates once they are fixed, but for the time being, they can be accesed through the moongate at Haven Plaza. The Change Log and Bug Repair List for November has been Updated with the Recent Changes and Addations.

NOV/10/2006: Been working mostly on some bug repair of systems already added, and working alot on the ore, wood, and leathers. Not much to report. Daniel's been setting up rentable, and buyable inn rooms, and houses all over the land.

NOV/15/2006: We hare haveing a few storms today, some power failures are expected. The save times have been decresed to 30 min to prevent alot of reverting.

NOV/18/2006: The first two boat races went well. The two winners of the two seprate races are, Cor the Paladin, and SPAWN the Ninja. A few minor bugs have been fixed, and chaneg log updated. The Ore Wood Leather, and Taming System install on the test shard is progressing well. We may even get it installed for our Monday Goal! **IMPORTANT NOTICE** On monday the 20th, expect some down time on the shard. I will be adding in the ore wood and leather system, which is made up of 389 scripts which will probably have errors.

NOV/19/2006: Race of champions was today. For the boat races. The two racers, who won the two seprate races faced off. Cor is the race of champion Winner. Also note that today in game support will be somewhat limited. I will be trying to get the last parts of the Ore Wood and Leather systems ready for release on tomorrow. I still have alot yet to do. NOV/20/2006: I didn't quite get finished fixing the errors with the new ore wood and leather system, so it is not up to date yet. I simply got too tired. I will try to finish it this evening.

NOV/21/2006: I got a bad headache today and didn/t get everything I wanted to get done with the Ore Wood and Leather system finished, but Im making progress.

NOV/22/2006: Today is the first live Testfire, of the new ores wood and leather systems. There may yet be some crashes or bugs so be on the lookout. **NOTE** Some of the new hues are not patched yet, and items/resources that use these new hues will appear solid black till they are patched.

NOV/23/2006: Happy Thanksgiving!! As I promised at the begening of the month, the food and cooking systm has had a MASSIVE overhaul. there are more hten 80 diffrent crops players can grow. The Farming systems we had before are also back. You can now milk cows, goats and sheep, as well as make speical kinds of cheese!

NOV/24/2006: ***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** If you use potions, make SURE you do not have a shield equipt when you do it. Right now that will crash the shard.

Update on Shard Problems
Just an update. Obviously the shards been up a few days, But I ended up fixing hte problem on the my computer, so transfering it to Arkatis' computer wasn't need after all. I do of course still thank him for offering. As an atempt to clear up some of the lag that monsters and spell casting currently seem to be having, I have a new CPU on order, slightly better then the one Cerberus sent us. If when we receive the chip this does NOT fix the problem, then it is obviously a RunUO2.0 problem and not an issue with the computer itself.

Messages of the week for October
OCT/15/2006: Greetings and welcome! At this moment this is a very basic shard. I do not know right now, if I will be able to recover our original shard, I won't actually know till late Tuesday night. Please bare with me while I work, I may not answer pages right away, or reply to private messages. If for what ever reason I can not get the original Avatar's Kingdom back (AK1) Then we will keep running with this version (AK2) and I hope to make it as great of a shard as the original. OCT/18/2006: I am working to fix the bugs with the spells, and races. If you encounter weird bugs ask me if I'm around and I'll let ya know what is up. For those players who created characters before today there is a race stone at Haven Plaza that will also let you change your class.

OCT/22/2006: Arriana, in have now offers her quest. Most of the bugs have been removed from the spell classes, and the race stone. There is one final bug that is puzzling me, the female hair won't change what you started with if you choose elf. Other then that the bugs are fixed.

OCT/28/2006: If your seeing this hopefully the shard has been fixed. While the shard was down I did manage to complete sevral scripts. Including the halloween stuff, and add in a few of our features from before.

Shard Problems, Halloween and the Loss of AK1
With my current computer problems, we are transfering the shard to another computer. Either Arkatis, or Boc may host the shard. But it should be up and running before halloween comes in time to do my plans for halloween.

When the shard does come back it will be called "Undead Kingdom" for the reconized change for halloween.

It is confirmed that AK1 has been lost. ALtho this is a sad loss, the plan to upgrade eventually to RunUO 2.0 was always there, but it was going to be a gradual upgrade. On the RunUO 2.0 Engine, we have more flexability as to what can be done, to customize the shard. Over all I belive it will be a better shard.

Avatar's Kingdom 1, and Avatar's Kingdom 2

Ok heres a little Fequently asked questions thing I set up to try to explain the events of this month.

AK FAQ
What Happened to the Avatar's Kingdom?
The computer which it was running on basicly shut down, and even lost the hard drive. The File host where we where putting back up copys of the shard, also went down while the shard was down.

What is Avatar's Kingdom 1 (AK1), and Avatar's Kingdom 2 (AK2)?
AK1 is the old shard, everything basicly before today using the old RunUO1.0. AK2 is everything from here on out (unless I can recover AK1) using RunUO 2.0.

What is going to happen to AK now?
Well that all depends. Tomorrow evening (Tuesday October 17th) about this time (8:30 CST) I will know one way or another. If our file host where we had our back up files, and patch files is gone, (deleted from their data base) then we will have to stick to AK2, which is (at the moment) "a very basic alpha shard." I will be rushed to get the systems we had with AK1 installed. This means that altho we will get the systems installed. I won't have alot of chances to test them properly.

Will AK2 be the same as AK1?
Theres really no way I can make AK2 Identical to AK1, because its impossible to recover alot of the stuff that AK1 had that I wrote. However, I do have a pretty good memory of what all we had. and will install it as I get to it. The Re-install Schudule right now looks like this:

Spell System (already added But VERY VERY Buggy untill the race system is added)
Taming System
Ore,Wood,Leather,Crystals,
Advanced Player Quests,
Basic Race System/Class System,
Town Houses/Inn Rooms,
Advanced Agriculture ,
Enviromental Effects and Weather,
Sickness, Hunger and Dehydration,
Socketed Weapons, Armor, and Shields,
Seige Engines,
Advanced Fishing,
Advanced Archery

Needless to say somethings are alot easier to install then others, but this list is set up as a priority list, not an easy of install or difficulty of install list.

When will the shard be "Completed"?
The shard will go through Three Phases as it did before, "Alpha", "Beta", and "Final".

Alpha: This is our current phase on AK2. (already started altho I don't know if we got AK1 or not) After the Re-Install List from above are all in, this phase will be over. The mail goal is to just get them in then test them breifly.

Beta: After We have the systems in, and they have been well tested, I will declare that we have progressed Past the Beta Stage into Final.

Final: During this stage, I will be going back to adding expansion packs for the diffrent races, and Normal Monster creation. Anything that's added Major like the systems above will be voted on by the players for their Opinions before added, and tested on a test shard before being finalized on the Main Shard.

Will AK2 be as good as AK1?
RunUO2.0 is built in a way that it offers us more features that I could not do before with RunUO1.0. However, Right now RunUO2.0 is likely to have many issues since it is nearly a new build from RunUO1.0. But as proglems with the main RunUO program are fixed, I will also fix them.

Over all with what I have learned, AK2 should end up better then the original, with more stable less buggy features.
