- I was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on January 17,1968. When I was two years old my mother married my stepdad Clifford. I grew up in a small community in Bastrop (Beekman), Louisiana. I moved to Plain Dealing, Louisiana when I was 15 years old. I was married my first time when I was just 16 and had my son Chris and divorced by 17. I met my second husband when I was 17 and he was 42 on December 8, 1985, for me it was love at first site. We were married 4 years later on February 24, 1990.
- I love to ride horses and go 4-wheeler riding. I love the outdoors. My husband is really into hunting so I enjoy going with him on that adventure. I love to crochet and cross stitch. My favorite sport is I guess football. The Dallas Cowboys and the Jacksonville Jaguars are my favorite teams (If I had to choose). I love my job very much. It is fullfilling and I beleive with all my heart that God sent this job to me. You can visit the website where I work at Grace Christian Home for Girls in Shreveport, Louisiana.
- I am a christian lady and I love to praise and worship our Lord with everything that I am. I am nothing without God. He has done so much for me in my life.
What's going on at the present time.
As I said before I am employed with Grace Christian Home for Girls. I have worked there for six years. I have had the opportunity to work with many teenage girls with all types of behavioral problems. My son Chris is now 20 years old and is engaged to be married to a wonderful young lady that he met in the group home that I work for. My husband and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary. We renewed our wedding vows as a covenant marriage on February 26,2005. I have to give glory to God for restoring our marriage to a place where we felt we should renew our vows. It was a big day and very beautiful. He was very handsome in his tuxedo and I felt like a princess.
My Family
My family means the world to me and I am so thankful that God gave them to me.
You can probably imagine how it is in a house with more than one female. Man does our house run wild. Hormones all over the place (HAHA). We really all get along pretty good considering that there are three women in the house hold.
- My Husband - His name is Emmett. He worked construction all his life. He was born in Goodwill, Louisiana. In case you don't know - that is a very very small country town outside of Bastrop, Louisiana. He graduated high school at Bastrop High and attended college at Mississippi Delta Junior College.
- My Son - Chris graduated CE Bryd High School. He wants to continue a career in welding. He plans to attend classes at Louisiana Technical College. He is engaged to Jackie.
- Soon to be Daughter-In-Law - Jackie was in the program that I work for about two and half years ago. She and Chris got to know each other during that time. Jackie completed the program and went back to California where she is from. She came back to Shreveport about 9 months ago and graduated high school with Grace Christian Academy and about 2 months later she and Chris began to date. And now I am getting a daughter-in-law. She is a great girl and they make a cute couple.
- Nikki - She was also in our program two years ago and is now back in Shreveport living with me and my husband and the rest of the household. She is a great girl and is very funny. I don't think there is a day that goes by that she doesn't have us all rolling with laughter. She is 17 and will graduate high school with Grace Christian Academy as well.
My Education
I dropped out of school when I was 16 years old and in the 9th grade. I went back to school to get my GED in 1989. I am currently enrolled at Bossier Parish Community College seeking a degree in Psychology. I should graduate BPCC in the year 2006. I feel like I've been there forever. I am a part time student and this is my third year at BPCC. I hope to have my own business as a Psychologist someday. I am getting some practice as I do counseling with the girls in the program once a week.

My Future Plans
My future plans involve transferring to Louisiana State University of Shreveport (LSUS) to continue my education in Psychology and maybe minor in Photography. I also plan to have another 15 years to celebrate with my husband. And hopefully have a few grandkids, but not right away on the grandkids. I'm looking forward to what God has in store for the rest of my life.
I will lead the
blind by ways they have not known
along unfamiliar
paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness
into light before them and make the
rough places smooth. These are the thigns I will do;
I will not forsake them.
-Isaiah 42:15-17
