Tribes 2 is a unique multiplayer-based first-person shooter. It has no single-player mode, apart from a few insignificant training scenarios that nobody really needs to bother with. The entire focus was put on multiplayer, and let me tell you... It's pretty apparent. Capture The Flag is everyone's favorite game type. It includes unlimited respawning of players and equipment on both sides, and since the objective is to capture a flag and take it back to your base, it requires both offensive and defensive strategies. Other game types include, but are not limited to, Siege, Deathmatch, Arena, Rabbit, Team Rabbit 2, Hunters, and Team Hunters.
Tribes 2 also has a wide array of equipment, ranging from heavy in-your-face fighters with handheld mortar launchers to snipers to stealth killers to speedy little bastards... And that's just if you're on foot. There are mobile bases, tanks, hover bikes, fighters, bombers, transports, all kinds of equipment. As for personal equipment, there are "packs" you can wear that enhance your abilities or give you new ones altogether, and hand grenades, anti-missile flares, remote-detonated satchel charges, proximity mines, things of that sort. One of the most unique things about Tribes 2 is that all players are equipped with a jetpack. It uses your armor's power supply, which regenerates on its own.
Gameplay is typically very fast and intense. It doesn't get much better than this.
