Listed below is every known glitch in Super Mario 64. This page will be updated everytime a new glitch is found.

Glitch: Ghost Lakitu

An old glitch that requires you to perform the reach the top of the castle with 0 stars glitch. Perform that glitch, and go to the picture of Peach, above the entrance to the castle. Drop down. Because you're closer to the entrance than you should, you won't start the conversation with Lakitu. Because you never actually touch Lakitu in the game, he was never meant to be touched, so you'll just go through him. He's just sitting by the entrance, and since he can't move until you stand at the beginning of the bridge that leads to the castle, he's stuck. Since you can go through him, you can go into the castle without having the conversation.

Glitch: Race Koopa the Quick in Zero Seconds! (Course 1)

One of the most common glitches in Super Mario 64. It's a classic! Found by David Wonn in 1997, this glitch will allow you to complete the first race against Koopa the Quick in zero seconds.

First, enter the Bob-Omb Battlefield painting, and select star 2 "Foot Race against Koopa the Quick". Don't talk to Koopa the Quick, but collect a Wing Cap. Run back to the cannon at the start of the stage. Face Koopa the Quick, and time your jumps so that your third jump is very close to Koopa the Quick. If your timeing is right, your third jump will be close to Koopa the Quick and you'll start flying without talking to him. Fly over the bridge, and drop into the cannon, without touching any ground. Shoot, fly over the floating island, and land by the flag at the top of the mountain. You'll start the conversation with Koopa the Quick. Now, agree to race him, and the race starts, but you're already at the flag! Because you're to far away, Koopa the Quick won't appear and won't be around until you exit and re-enter this Course. By using this glitch, you can't get the star.

Glitch: Rematch Koopa the Quick in Zero Seconds! (Course 13)

Another classic glitch. This one was found by David Wonn in 1998. To do another race in zero seconds in this more difficult race, enter Course 13: Tiny-Huge Island. Enter the huge area, find Koopa Troopa near the start of the level on a sandy hill. Jump on him once so he loses his shell, then jump on him again to defeat him. Don't get on the shell yet. Run up the sandy hil to find two yellow coins. Run to the right wall beside the coin on the right, but don't go all the wall. When you're between both coins, do a U-turn and do a wall kick on the left wall. You should have just enought height to grab the top of the wall. Pull yourself up, and you'll see Koopa the Quick. Like the previous glitch, do a triple jump, with the second jump being close to Koopa the Quick. Prepare for the hardest part of this glitch! When you do your third jump, you must land on the shell. Once you've done this, ride the shell pass the water, the cannon, ride the wind and make a huge jump to the flag. Now you'll begin the conversation with Koopa the Quick. Agree to race him, and the timer will start and instantly stop because you're already at the flag!

Glitch: Go through bridge in Bob-Omb Battlefield

Another classic glitch. Go to Bob-Omb Battlefield, and go to the bridge nearest to the start (Straight ahead). Go under the bridge and hold on. Now, go to the lowest part of the bridge. Let go. Instead of dropping down, Mario will pull himself up. While doing this, he goes through the bridge.

Glitch: Castle glitch

Collect 120 Stars, go inside the cannon outside of the castle, and shoot to the roof. Talk to Yoshi if you want if you haven't. Go above the picture of Peach, and start running up the wall. Once up, run straight up again, and you'll go through a wall, and land inside the entrance.

New! Glitch: Go through a door in Castle Basement

In the castle basement, go to the door that has the liquid that goes to the Hazy Maze Cave. When you're inside, you need to Punch the door at the point where Mario is close enough to open it. If you do this, Mario will go through the door without opening it, even though he does his animation when he does open a door. A strange thing is though, even though Mario goes though the door back to the area with the Lethal Lava Land painting, he ends up back where he was in the Hazy Maze Cave room.
