Follow these instructions to create your own details for Building Architect Plus.
First, make your detail. Use pictures off the net, from your scanner, or from a paint program
on your computer.
Second, make sure the image has some multiple of 16 pixels for its height
and width. Each 16 pixles is one unit on your building. For example, 16x16 is one, 32x32 is two high and two wide,
and 48x48 is 3 high and 3 wide.
To make a prop with a transparent background, use the RGB value 255,0,255 (hot pink)
Save the file as a .bmp and transport it to the custom details folder. Go to Search on the Start menu, and click on
Files or Folders to find the Costum Details folder.
TIP -Create a shortcut to this folder on the Desktop to avoid searching
multiple times.
Making Custom Props
There are a few ways to create props, all are a little tricky. Here is one way.
First, find an image to edit, or make your own.
Then, find a template file, which should be in your costum props
folder, or you can find some online.
Paste the template in an image editing document, and then paste your prop image in the template
Using the template as a guide, make four different views of your prop, since the game allows you to view your
city at different angles.
Example:
A long stair alternating between 3x1x3 and 1x3x3 templates
Fill in the background with hot pink to make it transparent
Now create a .met file. A metric file tells the prop what to do in the
game. Without one, your props will not show up.
If the template you used was 1x3x3 your .met file will look something
like this:
