Hi. I'm Bob . This guide is designed to teach a basic to moderate user to install the client side version of the Cheating-Death (CD) Anti-cheat tool for Half-life. I only assume that you already have HL, or CS, or retail DoD installed and have some form of desktop or start menu shortcut that you use regularly to access the game.

Step 1:
Download the CD client side install either by going to United Admins or by clicking this link for a direct link to version 3.2: w00t!.

Step 2:
Next run the install program and install it to a nice and easy to remember directory. In my case, I installed it to C:\CD so that I wouldn't forget where it is. When the installer prompts you for a desktop icon, go ahead and click yes.

Step 3:
Now we want to modify the shortcut so that it will run the game with CD active. Right click on the new C-D desktop icon and go to properties. You should get a nice and pretty window like this:

as of now we do not want to do ANYTHING with this window. Just leave it open.

Step 4:
Just like what we did with the C-D icon, we want to do with your Game Icon. If it's in the Start Menu, you should still be able to right-click, and click properties. In my case, I have a desktop icon for DoD, which is using Command line switches to change the CS retail to DoD, as well as switches for Dev mode and the console. Your window should look similar to mine:

If your's doesn't look exactly like mine, don't fret. I have alot of extra junk turned on. What we want to do with this window, is we want to copy the ENTIRE contents of the little field labeled "Target:", like so:

Step 5:
Now we want to go BACK to the open C-D shortcut's properties window. What we do here is simple. Click at the end of the "Target:" field so that the cursor is at the end and press space and then press either CTRL + V or right-click and click Paste. Your C-D window should now look something like this:

WARNING:Make sure you seperate the two entries with a space, otherwise the shortcut will not work! Also make sure you do not overwrite the C-D shortcut already in place!

That should be it! Click OK in both Properties windows, and click on your shortcut to run the game. A little window should pop up like below and the game will run. You should now be able to connect to any servers running CD anti-cheat protection.

WARNING:This new shortcut will only work with servers that are not running the Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) system ("secure" servers). If you want to connect to one of these servers, run your ORIGINAL shortcut.
