Welcome to the home of all your GCN2 information. Although information
on the new GCN2 console is still scarce my job will be to bring you all
the latest information that I can find. No matter how small the rumor I
will find out the truth. The official names of the consoles have not even
been released, but the links will be updated to suit when the time comes.
Information is very sketchy at the moment, but I will try my best.Check
out the hardware page for all the peripherals and information about the
new console. Then maybe have a look at any new games that may be in
production.
Updates
25th June 2004: The REVOLUTION has
begun. The new code name for Nintendo's next generation console is just
that. Revolution is a word that you better get use to. Revolution is the
correct word for it. The president of Nintendo, Mr. Sataru Iwata stated
that instead of focusing on the graphics the next generation Nintendo
console is going to revolutionise the way we play games. Do not fear
though the graphics will not be forgotten altogether with rumors of the
next generation Nintendo console's processor being equal to Xbox twos.
Broadband is also rumored. The release date is set for Christmas next year
in Japan, but that always changes.
25th April 2004: Very little
real information has been released about Nintendo's next generation
console. All that I am sure of is that it will have to be better than
their previous effort the Gamecube. The only two bits of information that
I am aware of is the release date and what type of CPU Nintendo will use.
Nintendo have always been one to keep secrets. The release date is
currently scheduled for a late 2005 or a early 2006 release. The dates
always change as you know. The CPU that they will utilise is an IBM
PowerPC based CPU. Nintendo have decided that the best strategy that they
can have is to get a jump on the competition and release it first.
Nintendo have stated that they want to try something different and believe
that the consumer will soon get sick of boosted up graphics. So who knows
what weird approach Nintendo will take too their next console. I guess we
will just have to wait and see.
