Getting
Started With Something for Everyone Domino League
Something for
Everyone is a domino league geared towards player satisfaction in a
manipulation free playing environment. The league plays hourly tourneys in
yahoo/beginners/femur seven days a week and has a separate ranking structure
for its players. This is a brief outline to get all new players situated and
show them the basics to signing up and playing in this league. All new players
should read through the full listing of rules. This is just an outline. Easy
access to all of the selections is listed along the left side of the Something
for Everyone’s main web page. Good luck and have fun out there.
Signing
up With Something for Everyone Dominos and Creating a New Account
Log onto the main page http://www.myleague.com/everyone Please
bookmark this page in your favorites.
Ø
Click on Free Signup. There will be four items to fill out. But it is
all quick and painless.
Ladder Name & Password.
Enter your ladder name and password. Your League ID and Yahoo ID must
match. This will prevent misreports of matches.
Email Address. Enter your email address. Please enter an email that is regularly
checked. This email will be how all players, Tournament Directors or Admins
will get in contact with you. As soon as you enter this info, an activation key
will be emailed to this address.
Ø LadderBux Bonus Chance. To register in
tourneys most will require LadderBux. They are like money, but not real money.
You will win bux for finishing well or winning tourneys. By checking each of
the boxes in this section you will accrue 100+
LadderBux and be directed to a page where you may earn even more. This
will get you starting bux for our league.
Activate Account. You will want to retrieve the 3-digit activation key that was emailed to
you. This will activate your new account with Something for Everyone Dominos.
You are only allowed to have one account per person. All multiple accounts will
be deleted.
Signing
up and playing in tournaments
The largest draw to this league is the multiple tourneys held everyday. The TDs (Tournament Directors) host a multitude of different tourneys. This keeps the ladder very active. This section will briefly outline signing up and playing in the tourneys.
Finding
tourneys to play in On the main page, owards the
bottom, you will find a schedule of daily events. This calendar is updated
frequently throughout the day. On the main page’s left side menu is a link for
a real time Tournament Calendar. It is recommended that you sign up 30 minutes
before the tourney starts. This will give you plenty of time to get all set up
and find a partner if you need to.
Tournaments are also advertised in femur’s lobby. All tourneys will have
an address that looks like this http://www.cgi2.igl.net/tourney/everyone/65555. The only
difference will be the jump number at the end of that address. That number
represents the number of that tourney. You can manually type the jump number in
the ‘tourney jump’ box on the main page’s left side menu.
Registering for a tourney Once you have gotten to the tourney page, you will have to register for that tournament. Please follow these steps to get signed up in that tourney.
1. Click on the Register link.
2. Enter your league name and
password.
3. Check the read rules
box. It is required that you read the rules for that tournament. Rules can be
found by clicking on the Rules link at top of page. There are a variety of
specialty tourneys, so please make sure you know what the rules are for that
particular tourney.
4. Then click register.
5. The same procedure is used
when you are withdrawing from a tourney as well. You will just click on
withdraw though.
Registering
for a partner tourney Registering for a 2 v 2 (Partner tourney) is
slightly different. After finding a partner (usually in the lobby or at a
partner shopping table) follow these steps.
1. If creating a new team, put a
check in the box next to ‘make new team’ and type the team name into the space
provided. To join an existing team, put
a check in the box next to ‘join a team’ and select the team from the pull down
menu.
2. Enter the password for that
team. This password should be something simple and easy to remember. Generally
123 or some password like that is chosen.
3. Please insert your ladder name
and password.
4. Place a check in the Read the
Rules box.
5. Then click register.
Members who don’t have a partner may still play in 2 v 2 tourneys by
checking the ‘auto-team locator’ box. At
the beginning of the tourney cases will randomly pair all players who are using
the auto-team locator option.
Checking
in for tourney After you have signed up you will need to be checked in for the tourney.
This is meant to ensure that players who register early are available to play
when the tourney begins. To check in, just click on the Teams/Check-In button.
Then click on the yellow Check-In button. Then just enter the team name and password.
This will let the TD know your team is ready to play. However, if you sign up
after the TD has opened the Check-In process, you will automatically be checked
in after you register.
Standings The Standings selection will show the bracket
style listings of the tourney. This will show whom you will play in your
upcoming matches.
Pairings The Pairings selection will layout the matches
to be played. This is most prominent in the Swiss Style tourneys.
Rules The Rules selection is just
that. This specifies the rules for that tourney. Please read these before each
tourney.
Report In Something for Everyone domino league the
Tournament Director reports all tourney wins/losses. A common mistake by new
members is to use the report page to do their own tourney game reporting. You
will report to the tournament director by typing in the lobby chat window your
name, your opponent’s name, and whether you won or lost.
Tournaments aren’t the only way league
members can compete. This next section pertains to non-tournament league games.
Playing a non-tourney match You may also play against other league members anytime you would like. There are many games going on after or in-between tourneys. To initiate a game, just ask in the lobby if there are any My League members who are interested in a game. It is never very difficult to find a game. You can play against another player three times a day, and the top twenty only once per day. However, you can run across these same players many times in a tourney that same day.
Reporting a non-tourney match It is the loser’s responsibility to report the losses of these matches. If you lose a match, click on the Report Loss selection on the left side menu on the main page. You will insert your ladder name and password. And you will insert the name of the player who beat you. Something for Everyone is a fast moving league and our members expect prompt reporting of losses. You need to report the loss of a match before playing another My League game. If you are experiencing ISP or computer difficulties you have 24 hrs to get your report made, this is assuming that the report WILL be made prior to playing another game. It is recommended that you use a notepad to keep track of the players that you play everyday. This prevents playing the same opponent more often than allowed and you may track reports from other players..
This last section will briefly describe the
rest of the options on the main menu.

Player This allows you to see if
another player is registered with Cases, or to see the stats on any other

change your name. While name changes are ok, only one ID per person is
allowed. Players with multiple IDs will
have their accounts removed. Premium accounts are also managed from here..

password you can request that it be emailed to you. The password will be sent
back to the email address given in the player setup.
Withdraw If you need to withdraw an account, you will select this option.
Unreported
Match If a player you have beaten does
not report that match in a timely fashion, you would fill this out and the
Admin staff will handle that report for you. This option should only be used
after you have tried to contact that player.
Admin
List This is a listing of the people
that run this place. We try very hard to run this league smoothly and are
always here to help with anything that you may need.
Contact
Admin This will allow you to send an
email to any of the admin with a problem that you might be having.
As a new member you will be added
to our yahoo messenger so that you can receive direct links for tourney
registration from those TDs who choose to advertise them. If you do not wish to
receive these ads, just hit ignore on the instant message or reply to the
message saying you wish us to delete you from our messenger . Most of our
players love this feature! We update our pagers weekly. If you would like to
ensure that you are added quickly, just email admin.
Well that about wraps this up. I
hope this will answer most of your questions as you begin playing with us. We
are a large family here and most anyone is willing to help you with any
questions that you might have. Remember, we were all new here at one time.
Let me be the first to welcome you to Something for Everyone Dominos.
