After defeating the polluted piranha plant at Delfino Airstrip, two Piantas wearing police suit come and arrest Mario. Mario is taken to court, where they say that Mario polluted Isle Delfino using, as a Pianta describes it, "some paintlike substance". Mario is told to clean the mess that he was falsly accused for. Then the Pianta Police take Mario to Delfino Plaza, where there is a mess at Bianco Square. The goop has caused the Grand Pianta Statue to disappear. You might have noticed that back at Delfino Airstrip the goop was shaped in a Mario face. Here at Delfino Plaza, the goop is shaped in a fish. Anyway, let's get back to game play. Walk straght ahead to meet Princess Peach and Toadsworth. Peach will be happy to see that you're okay. She will also say that this place isn't her idea of a vacation, and that she wants to leave now. Next, go to the mess. You'll notice that unlike the calmer goop at Delfino Airstrip, ooze enemies come out of the goop. When they get close to you, they will groan, turn white, then pounce on you. Simply spray them to defeat them. Now let's fight that piranha plant! Spray water in it's mouth three times to defeat it just like you did with the other. When the mess is all cleaned up, a cinema scene showing the Grand Panta Statue coming back in it's place. On top of it's head is a strange person that, despite his color, looks exactly like Mario! He jumps off the statue and runs to and grabs Princess Peach. This is when we get back to game play. Chase the Mario imposter, called Shadow Mario, spraying him as you go. You'll know you've got him because he turns red when FLUDD sprays him. Remember to press R lightly so you can run while you spray. When you spray him enough, he falls over and drops Peach. After complaining about using tools like FLUDD, he runs to the Grand Pianta Statue and paints a rainbow colored M with the large paintbrush he holds then jumps into the M. Do what FLUDD suggests and spray the M. When you jump into it, it will take you to Bianco Hills. Use this later. Now let's cover Shine Sprites. #1: BURIED TREASURE On the east beach near the lighthouse, spray the sand until you find a place that makes sparks. Spray that spot until a Shine Sprite comes out and appears at one of the tall islands next to the lighthouse. Jump and hover to claim the prize. #2 & 3: BOXING Across the canal and near the Shine Gate is an open doorway. It won't be open, though, if you havn't been to Bianco Hills. Anyway, go inside and accept the Pianta's challenge to break all the crates in 30 seconds or less. When you are standing on top of a crate, perform a ground-pound to break it. If you do this in the middle of two crates, both will break at once. Use that to save time. If you can do it, a Shine Sprite will appear. Come back after you collect it to play a harder crate game. Finish it to get a second Shine Sprite. #4: CLEAN THE WEST BELL You can use the Rocket Nozzle to blast up the west bell tower, but you can also get there using the Hover Nozzle. You might notice that the west bell tower has a tightrope leading to another building. Cross the tightrope, then side somersalut and Hover to the top of this building. Then you'll see that you can easily hover to the bell. Once you're there, spray the dirty bell. Don't bother Moving around. You'll get the whole bell clean if you stay in on spot. Once the bell is squeaky clean, a Shine Sprite will appear and go inside the bell. There's only one way to get to it and it's to go to the building with the green awing. Jump on the awning to bounce on the roof. Once your there, ground-pound the manhole lid and use the passage to get inside the bell tower, where you can easily grab the Shine Sprite. #5: MARIO TOSS Go to the roof of the building where you can play a crate game and find the orange Pianta. Look at the tower behind him and you will notice one of the window screens on it is crooked. Talk to the Pianta and pay him a Yellow Coin. If you do, he'll throw to the window. Before you talk to him, make sure that the window with the crooked screen is directly behind the Pianta. When Mario hits the window, he'll break the screen and fall into the building. This building contains nothing except a Shine Sprite. Grab it and add it to your collection. #6: THE GOLDEN BIRD When you have at least 10 Shine Sprites, swim to the island that has a castaway that's sending smoke signals and a warp pipe that's blocked by strange, yellow moving stuff that's called a Yoshi Force Sheild. You'll notice a golden bird flying around. Spray it with FLUDD until it turns into a Shine Sprite. You might lose track of it. If you do, either wait for the bird to reappear on the TV screen or search for the bird but move the camera slowly until you find it. When the Shine Sprite appears it will go to the islands near the lighthouse like the first Shine Sprite. You know how to get it from reading before. #7: TURBO SPEED When you have the Turbo Nozzle in Delfino Plaza (learn how to get it by reading how to get to Pianta Village) you can get this Shine Sprite by breaking through the doors in the first floor of the West Bell Tower. Use the Turbo Nozzle to break the doors and get inside.
