Survive Delfino Airstrip

PART 1: DELFINO AIRSTRIP DILEMMA Mario Peach and an entouage of Toads have arrived at Delfino Airstrip on Peach's plane. The plane suddenly skids to a stop halfway down the airstrip. Mario, Peach, and the Toads go out to see what happened. They find there's a pit with, as one Toad describes it, "Icky, paint like goop". Peach's Butler, Toadsworth, is worried about Peach in the sun, so he asks Mario if he can go and find help. That's when you get to play. Go over to the other side. Near a pile of crates and a strange man called a Pianta is a small machine. Walk up to it. This is your main item you will have throughout the game. The machine will scan and get info about Mario then introduce itself as FLUDD (short for Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Devise) then give you a quick instruction on how to use it. Listen carefully. If you missheard anything FLUDD said wait until he finishes talking then the game will ask you if you want to hear that again. As the machine, FLUDD, told you, it can be used a a water pump, perfect for cleaning up goopy messes like the one not far from where you are. You'll be cleaning that up in a minute but first, to test your skills, clean off the grafiti "M's" on the tanks near you. Time to get rid of that mess! Spray with FLUDD using the R button. If you feel like running around as you spray, hold the R button lightly. If you want to stay right where you are and be able to aim, either hold down the R button all the way than use the controler stick to aim or press the Y button than use R to spray and the controler stick to aim. Try them both and see which is right for you. Anyway, spray the big, moving blob in the center of the pit until a polluted Piranha Plant comes out of it! Spray water in it's mouth three times to defeat it. PART 2: RED COIN CHALLENGE Stop reading this page! Don't read any more until your at the end of the game (if you follow the instructions on our site, you'll be there in no time at all). At Delfino Plaza, collect ten yellow coins then talk to the Pianta next to the boat near the boathouse. Pay him the ten coins and he will take you back to Delfino Airstrip, where you can play a red coin challenge. First, grab the Turbo Nozzle out of the grey box next to the red switch. Then ground-pound the red switch to play the red coin game. Fire up the Turbo Nozzle with the R button then break the doors to find red coin 1. Remember to keep holding down R until you have all 8 red coins. After you break the doors on the other side, follow the coin trail, jumping if you have to, to collect the other 7.
