| Knight Raven Rules |
1. Rank & Command Responsibility: Rank within the house is not just defined by a title. With each comes a new level of responsibility. This is especially true in regards to command positions. 1.1 Private - Corporal (1-3): These are the base fighting strength of the House. The general ranks must learn to work together and under direction of several different levels of command. 1.2 Sergeant - Lieutenant (4-6): Battle commanders are temporary role models assigned to the highest ranking members of any given league battle. Battle command starts when a Knight Raven bids a league battle and ends when the battle is over. The ranks also carry out the will of their respective lance commanders. 1.3 Captain (7): Captains are Major's in training. They are required to attend command staff meetings but have no voting power and must remain silent, voicing their opinions through text chat to their respective Majors. Captain's are permitted to vote on all agendas except Major's appointments. 1.4 Majors (8): Major's are responsible for the well being and administration of his or her lance. Majors have the authority to promote within the ranks only in their own lance, they can also demote ranks within their own lance if the need arises. They are also authorized to edit the roster of the unit as they see fit within the league, BUT MAY NOT EDIT LANCE ROSTERS OTHER THAN THEIR OWN. They can authorize transfers within lances. Each Major is assigned a field of expertise. There are six fields of expertise which are; A ) Chief recruiter, B ) House Administrator, C ) Master Communications Engineer, D ) Master Mech Engineer, E ) Tactics & Training, and F ) Tactical Warfare Coordinator. These areas of responsibility are assigned by the House General and extend to the entire unit and their lances. 1.5 Colonel (9): The Colonel is the trustee of the General who is appointed to his or her position. As such, the Colonel's voting power when it concerns the impeachment of the General. Only the six Majors have the ability to do this. In the unfortunate event of the General's impeachment, the Colonel will hold the position of General until a new one is voted in to take his or her place. Once the new General has been elected they may decide to keep the existing Colonel or select a Lieutenant or higher to take his or her place. The Colonel's job parallels that of the General's. 1.6 General (10): The Executive Command is the executive, legislative, and judicial governing elements of the house rolled into one. These members make the decisions that effect the direction of the House as a whole. They set the unit policy and enforce it through their Majors. Executive Command members are also responsible for any administration of the members intranet as well. Ultimately, the Executive Command will oversee all the activity in the House and monitor its performance as a unit, and do whatever is necessary to make it work. 2. Command Roles: Command positions [ defined as lieutenants & higher ] are very high activity roles in the House. House Knight Raven realizes that some of its ranks have limited schedules. As such, the House respectively asks these people not to to take on these positions. 3. Battlefield Command: General ranks do not hold command responsibility with the respect to the unit structure. When split into smaller fighting units on the field, the highest ranking member assumes command responsibility. If the ranks are the same, then the House member with the highest seniority assumes command. 4. Demotions for Misconduct: Demotions are an unfortunate occurrence that are required to continue efficient operation, but should be used as a last resort. The Command Staff will decide command rank demotions while Majors will decide on demotions within the ranks of their own lance. Note that the Command Staff has the demotion power over anyone in the House at anytime and may demote a Knight Raven for conduct unbecoming on the spot. Command Staff decisions regarding demotions are final and will supercede a Major's decision. 5. Compounded Sentences: Note that demotions and time in the rank resulting from demotions are cumulative. For example; If anyone openly calls someone else a " f&*#ing cheater ", the minimum punishment is a drop in three ranks - one for cussing and two for accusations of cheating - a five week lock on being being promoted past the minimum demotion drop - two weeks for cussing and three weeks for the accusation of cheating. In some cases a Knight Raven may be demoted more than the minimum due to availability within the roster. The demoted KR may TOP back for their minimum demoted rank if that is the case. For example; A Captain (7) is found guilty of cussing and accusing someone for cheating to another unit. However, there are no Sergeants (4) positions available, so he or she gets put at the next available position Corporal (2). They cannot be promoted. They must earn their way back up. And no matter what happens, this KR would not be able to exceed the rank of Sergeant until the five are up. 6. Abuse of Power: Abusing the power of command will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Abuse constitutes over manipulation of the KR roster for personal issues with certain House members, preventing the advancement of certain deserving members due to unfounded personality issues, lack of communication with the Command Staff when making drastic changes to the roster, or the Manipulation of the Codes of Conduct in any form without approval from the Command Staff. Continual abuse command will result in a Command Review by the offending Officer's peers [ (8)'s and above ] with the repercussion ranging from Verbal and Written warnings, to being Demoted to at least two ranks. 5.1 Administrative Demotions: Knight Ravens that wish to relinquish their rank for a lower rank, for whatever reasons, may do so at anytime. Such an action will not be viewed with contempt by anyone. House members that request an extended leave of absence but wish to remain on the roster and demoted to a rank one until their return to active duty. At that time their rank will be reinstated to the highest rank available closest to their previously held rank. 7. Expulsion: Expulsion from the unit is the result of a member being removed from the ranks because of not following the Rules of Conduct of the House. Every team member has been brought onboard because we know they will perform. We do not just add people to the roster and see how they work out. Therefore our House Members will NOT BE REMOVED WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. In order for a Commander to remove someone from the roster, the following must be performed; A) DEMOTION BEFORE EXPULSION. THIS IS SELF EXPLANATORY. A demotion is a warning of the responsibilities unfulfilled. The ONLY exception to this is for a violation of the Codes of Conduct. B) A member that is in danger of being removed from the roster must first be given proper notice to their violations and given a chance to explain or resign. This notice should be made via e-mail and copies of the notice should be sent to the Command Staff. A reasonable amount of time ( 1 week ) should be given for a reply. C) Officers have been given a responsibilities in their lance units and the Command Staff must approve their removal. D) Only after the above conditions have been performed then the House member maybe forcibly removed from the roster. Members may also be expelled or involuntarily demoted for non-performance. This equates to prolonged periods of inactivity without explanation. 8. Battle and Planet War Confirmation / Reporting Discipline Measures: The confirmation and reporting of battles and planet wars according to the rules of any and all Leagues must be met and adhered to. The confirmation process must be accurate I.E. make sure the current team players have been reported regardless of who won or lost. The first offense to this action will result in a VERBAL warning, the second offense will be a LOSS OF RANK for a period of ONE WEEK, and 3rd. offense will result in a suspension for an undisclosed time period until you have earned your rank back. 8.1 Battle and Planet War report forms: It is every KR's responsibility to have a copy of both reports on hand. In a 1 v 1 battle you must use it yourself, but in a battle or planet war the ranking officer will assign the one responsible for filling out the reports. The one filling out the report will be responsible for reporting or confirming battles and planet wars.
