Current Events (events planned to occur within the next month)

Officers- Allowed to plan events

Our guild’s purpose is to safeguard the sacred objects known as the Boxes of Orden. There are three such boxes, when brought together and certain ceremonies are performed they can be opened. The opener brings one of three outcomes depending on which box he/she opens: 1. the opener dies, 2. all life everywhere dies simultaneously, 3. the opener gains absolute power over all life. It is much more complicated than this but to tell more could be dangerous. We not only guard these items, we guard the Book of Shadows (a book which details how to open the boxes).

With Darken Rahl’s takeover of D’Hara we have an even greater reason to worry.

A guild that guards such dangerous items must be organized in such a way as to allow quick action against those who would attempt to relieve us of them.

Want to become a member? Talk to a Recruiter (see below for details on recruiters), or Drala Dragonwing (the Guild Mistress)

The rules/guidelines/suggestions for guild conduct are detailed below (mostly suggestions for conduct, few true rules):

Trial Members – members brought into the guild by a recruiter but not yet a full member. Trial guild members will be indicated by their lack of title (though they will still have [KoO] on the end of their name)

Trial members are those being considered for guild membership

They are not guild members yet and guildies should not feel obligated to supply them with discount prices and free items

Trial members must pay guild dues of 2500 gold upon being accepted for entry into the guild by the recruiter, the recruiter may initially pay this fee for the new guild member, but after the first week of guild membership the recruiter should be repaid (this is suggested time only, the recruiter and the new guildie may make whatever arrangements they wish so long as the dues are paid), the purpose of this money is ensure that people who don’t really care about the guild won’t want to join and to engender a bit of loyalty to the guild. (if you are a trial member and are having difficulty getting the money to pay this back then try tailoring items out of cloth and selling what you make to the npcs who sold you the cloth, you should be able to make the money in just an hour or 2)

Guildies – members of our guild. Guildies will be indicated by the fact that they have a guild title of any kind (should a guildie not have a title chosen they will be assigned the title “Guildie”)

Rules for Guildies

Guildies are to obey officers under guild war circumstances and to accept officer mediation of disputes (should you think the mediation unfair you may take it up with me directly, most often I will do as my officers have decided)

Guildies are to have their guild titles shown at all times

Guidelines for Guildies

Guildies are encouraged to fight monsters with other guildies and to help new members train

Guildies are encouraged to help guildies in trouble

Guildies are encouraged to give discount rates to other guildies, and perhaps save items that they consider useless to give to younger guildies who may not

Guildies may have almost any guild title they want, they must talk to me to change them and I will tell them whether their chosen title is acceptable or not, if it is acceptable I will change their guild title to what they have asked, initially the guild title will be chosen by the recruiter

Guildies are allowed a strongbox at the guild house until such a time as room for them runs out

Note: strongboxes need not be unlocked to open so long as you have a key to them

Guildies are encouraged to contribute unwanted (but useful) items to the Officer Strongbox (located in the Northwestern most corner of the guild house)

Guildies are encouraged not to kill enemy guild members without a challenge for a duel, and not to loot corpses of other players unless you were looted first or the rules decided on for the duel allowed looting (Our shard runs on a very unique, very rickety player to player, guild to guild relationship that allows shard unity. To prevent it from going to heck we encourage practices that stabilize this shard unity.)

Officers – officers are trusted guild members who have been given some authority over other guild members, officers will be indicated by the title “#(rank) Officer” the ratio of officers to members will be about 1 officer to 5 guild members, officers have all the duties/rights of guild members with some additional ones

How does one become an officer? I watch how you act and if I think you would make a good officer (and we need another officer) I will ask you if you want to be an officer, if you don’t want to then just say no.

How do I make certain I never become an officer? Ask to become an officer and bug the guild mistress about it, officers are people I trust and trust to lead others, my trust cannot be gained by asking for it

Rules for Officers

An officer is to obey the guildmistress and higher ranking officers at all times (as indicated by the number preceding their name), and when circumstances permit, are encouraged to question their superiors.

Guildlines for Officers

An officer is to aid guild members in trouble when they are able.

An officer is allowed to: plan events for guildies and have the events posted on the website, keep the peace within the guild by mediating disputes (it is strongly suggested that officers not mediate disputes unless asked for, but under extreme circumstances may mediate disputes when not invited to do so, if at all possible refer such disputes to me), command guildies in guild war situations, and request guildies to be removed from the guild (and be seriously considered).

Officers are allowed access to the officer strongbox

Officer Events – officers are allowed to plan any even they choose, but cannot make events mandatory for guild members.

When planning an event an officer are suggest to have a second (another officer who will take over the event should the event planner be unable to attend)

Should an officer plan an event and then not show up for it, from then on the suggestion of having a second will become mandatory

They are suggested to have a backup event planned should the first event fall through (if enough people don’t show up for an event such as a guild tournament a guild dungeon crawl might be a good backup).

Officer Strongbox – this will be found in the guild house

A newbified key to this box will be given to every officer

Note to officers: strongboxes need not be unlocked to open them if you have the key in your inventory

The purpose of the Officer Strongbox is to give officers access to guild resources in order to give them to themselves in times of emergency, or give them to deserving guildies (trial guild members should not be given items from officer strongbox)

Should it be suspected that the key has left the ranks of the officers at any time; the current strongbox will be scrapped and replaced with a new one

Should any officer be found to be abusing the Officer Strongbox (by taking items out to sell them and not returning the gold from the sales to the strongbox, or taking items from the strongbox with intent to hoard) will be removed from officer status, and possibly the guild.

Recruiters – officers who are trusted in their ability to judge people, recruiters will be indicated by the title Recruiter” recruiters may also be officers in which case their title will read “#(rank) Officer Recruiter” the ratio of recruiters to guildies is fluid, but no more than 1 recruiter to 5 guildies.

How do I become a Recruiter? If you are an officer, I watch how you act and if I decide you would make a good Recruiter I ask you, if you don’t want to then say no.

How do I make certain I never become a recruiter? Ask the guild mistress and bug her about it, recruiters are people I trust and trust to judge others well, my trust cannot be gained by asking for it.

Recruiting Procedure (this must be followed)

1. Find a player you believe may make a good guild member, someone who will not make problems for the guild/guildies and would likely help guildies. If someone asks to become a guild member please allow them to attempt to become a guild member (if you already know they would not make a good guildie then just tell them no)

2. Make certain they are not already in a guild (attempting to recruit players already in a guild only serves to make that guild hostile toward us)

3. Recruit the person by using the “Recruit someone into the guild” option on the guild stone menu (it is the first option)

4. Observe how the person interacts with others and speak with them for a time

5. If you decide that he/she will make a good guildie then make place a book in the Secure Container closest to the door of the guildhouse, the book should contain:

I. Your name

II. The name of the person you are recruiting

III. The code required to tell me that you actually are a recruiter for our guild.

IV. (optional) a title for the new guild member, if this is not provided their guild title will default to “Guildie

6. Collect 2500 gold in guild dues from the new guild member and place it in the same Secure Container you placed the book in

Guidelines/Powers

Recruiters are allowed to recruit other individuals into the guild

Recruiters’ suggestions for removal of guildies will be very strongly considered (especially if they are members that you recruited)

With regards to the dues of 2500 paid to the guild upon recruitment, it must be payed upon recruitment but the recruiter may pay it and regain the money from the new guildie within one week (this is the suggested maximum time) or whatever time frame the recruiter works out with the guildie, the purpose of this money is ensure that people who don’t really care about the guild won’t want to join and to engender a bit of loyalty to the guild

Above all remember; you are a recruiter because I trust your judgment with guild members, use that judgment.

Guild Mistress – person who runs the guild and made all these silly guidelines/rules, Drala Dragonwing, the Guild Mistress will be indicated by the title “Guild Mistress

The guild mistress is a reasonable person who tries to run an orderly guild

The guild mistress is allowed to do whatever she deems best for the guild

Ask the guild mistress for help, she will give it

I reserve the right to remove anyone from the guild at any time for any reason I choose (exercising this right is another matter entirely

I reserve the right to lower/remove officers/recruiters from their positions at any time I choose

Additional Information
