Encounter on Jack Mountain

I was working in this area when I was about 13 cutting pulp-wood. I had to cross Jack Mountain to go to Hot Springs, Va, walking. I often crossed this section at nite and in the afternoon. I was returning from golf-caddie job at Hot Springs, and it was 6:00pm as I started to go up Jack Mountain, up ahead of me was a women walking up the mountain to. She had on tannish color cloths and a Puritain type bonnet, at that time I thought it was faunky colors. I tried to pick up the pace to get alongside her. I could not get up alongside her< I could only get about 10' Then she glanced back and stepped off to the left and into the woods. Well these woods are clear under the trees with leaves on the ground. I thought I'll see where she goes, and went into the woods to. I stood still as anyone in there could be seen in relation to a tree when they passed in front of it. I stood still 60 min to try to see what was going on, nothing then I moved up into woods. Well, I ask the other loggers (men) what was back there and who lived back there. They said there is nothing back there and no one lives back there. Then for no reason next day going down the mountain in the truck. They said, did you ever see a girl on this road? Well I said yes, that was end of the conversation, I do not no who it was. It was real as you can get.
Me? I am 50+ now intend to go back to see if I can get more info.
