This occured in the laet sixties - early seventies. I'd just gone to bed. My
sisters were in their bedroom next to mine, I could hear them talking. And my
parents were in the living room watching television. It was between 9 and 10 PM.
For some reason, I had left the door open to my bedroom. The light was off in my
room, though the hall light was on. I had a bad feeling all of a sudden about
the door. for some reason, I really wanted that door to stay open. I suddenly
felt that if that door was to close, then I would be in a world of trouble. I
was probably about 14 to 15 years old, so wasnt't afraid of my shadow, but I had
a dreadful feeling that the door NEEDED to stay open. Then, the door began to
swing shut - all by itself. There was no one there, because I could see the
entire hallway from my bed. Nothing was touching that door, yet it continued to
closed - by itself. And, as I had said, I felt if it did, I was a gonner. I
leaped out of bed and grabbed the closing door, pulling it open just before it
shut, feeling like I had pulled the door out of something's grasp. I stood there
holding the door open, braced to the door frame with my breath coming in great
gulping gasps as if I had just run a mile. There was no one there. I was in a
cold sweat. And I was scared to death. Every so often, I recall that event. It
helps keep my perspective.
