2) Next, the Tiki Tack Man mysteriously disappeared from his Tombola and his store! No one had any idea where he went, and with no other leads to run with, Neopians waited patiently until...
3) The Techo Master of the Training School was kidnapped too! This kidnapping left behind a pretty badly torn up, burned, and now Master-less school. However, it also left us our first hint to work with. If you right-clicked on the page and scrolled to "View Source", you would find this hidden in the html:
"Looking closer, you see footprints leading to the north. Two sets. You see nothing else."
Very strange. This was also a big lead in determining who the next victim would be. Many guessed it would be Jhuidah, the island faerie of the cooking pot. However, there was one person to go first...
4) The article in the Neopets Magazine finally came to pass, and the Island Mystic vanished! The dejected Mora that was left behind explained the situation, and by viewing the source once again on this page, the following could be found hidden in the HTML...
"Looking closer you see two sets of footprints leaving the hut."
Refreshing the page and viewing the source each time, the following was also added to the above text...
"You also find a single red feather on the floor near the door."
5) Now, Jhuidah, the island faerie and guardian of the Cooking Pot, has vanished as well! Where could she have gone? At this point, with both the Training School and Trading Post inoperative, many neopets players began to grow frustrated, and a hunt for the island faerie began...
6) A fire faerie arrives on the scene to stop people from approaching the now-smoking volcano. The site also implies that the occurances are very similar to the Monoceraptor incident, however...
7) The Tiki Tours coconut-jubjub is missing too! Gasp! Where could he have gone? No secrets here, folks, sorry.
8) Jhuidah found! Finally, after searching for a long time, Jhuidah was found and saved from her imprisonment within a fish bowl after being shrunken down by a special potion. The trading post reopened, and Jhuidah later supplied us with our first real clues: An encoded and indeciphirable (yeah right!) letter.
Decoding this note, we discovered that it read as follows:
"PS You were correct: with the four of them gone, the power of the ancients was weak enough to open the first seal: Jhudiah can do nothing now, she is harmless: my minions are working on breaching the second as we speak: when all three are down the secret of the volcano shall beyours (sic) My lord: when going on safari, safety is of the utmost importance: Make sure you pack at least three large pian leaves, nine pinannas, and seven kraku berries in case of poisons: at eight o'clock every day you must prepare the camp. It is only two hours till nightfall and the island can get very dangerous J"
What could this mean? Well, looking closer at this information, we find a list of non-existent items:
"Make sure you pack at least three large pian leaves, nine pinannas, and seven kraku berries in case of poisons: at eight o'clock every day you must prepare the camp. It is only two hours till nightfall and the island can get very dangerous"
Note that this contains five numbers in it: 3 9 7 8 2. Also, the letter earlier said...
"when going on safari, safety is of the utmost importance..."
9) Looking at the neohomes on SAFARI lane, we discover that neohome number 39782 (clever, huh?) contains a series of two-digit numbers...
59 39 18 19 04 24 58
The page also implies that this may be the combination to a safe of some sort, but we know better than that, don't we ;)
10) It turns out that these numbers are actually the number of seconds past each minute that you must visit the beach in order to make a certain letter appear. The letters that appear are: H Y A K L O B. Here was a very short deadend for some people.
11) Head to Techo Mountain, and it will ask you for a password. Adding the string ?password=hyaklob (so the new link is here), it tells you that the Techo Master appears to be at the top of the mountain! However, there is a problem...when you climb up to see him, it's really a stone statue that wishes to see you fight.
12) Don't worry, it's not a battledome battle or anything of that sort, just picking the right order of moves is all. The correct order is:
1) Short Left Kick
2) Uppercut
3) Right Straight Punch
4) High Block
5) Left Straight Punch
6) Low Block
7) Roundhouse
8) Left Cross
9) Right Jab
10) Right Hook
Completing these moves will cause the statue to crumble and reveal the real Techo Master, who will thank you and inform you of his secret word, 'Magma'. (Mystery Words Found: 1/5)
13) Now, what about the poor Tiki Tourguide? Looking back at Jhuidah's letter again, we discover that it is signed by '-J'. With nowhere else to go, Neopians turned to the dark faerie, Jhudora. So head to her page, and view the source to discover another hidden message:
"askabout tikitourguide"
Go here to ask her about the tour guide, and she'll tell you that she gave him away to someone who "loved coconuts, and all that rubbish..."
14) You now must purchase a Tagobo Potion. These can be found at the Tropical Food Shop, in auctions, on the trading post, or sometimes in shops. Once you have it, search for 'Tiki' in the shop wizard with the minimum price set at 150,000. The username 'cocoluvr_y5' will frequently come up, and if y ou look in his shop, one of his items, the Tiki Plushie, will scream for help if you hold your mouse over it. Being very careful not to misspell the name (if you want to be sure, just copy and paste it off of this website, or check the user first to make sure it's the 40 month account with a tiki-gallery), send cocoluvr_y5 the Tagobo Potion. Don't worry, if you sent it to the right person, the potion will never even leave your inventory! The Tour Guide will appear and thank you for finally rescuing him, along with telling you that his mystery word is 'Ancient' (Mystery Words found: 2/5)
15) Next up: The Tiki-Tack Man! Head to the Tombola and you'll find a strange-looking replacement for the Tiki Man. Head to the Help section and ask about a Tiki Mask. She'll reply with:
"Tiki Mask??? "Why would I know anything about a Tiki Mask?" Sarah's eyes suddenly roll back in her head, and she starts chanting in a weird voice...
The Mask you seek is a thousand miles away. Fetch it quickly, to save the day."
16) Head to the games menu, and choose the game "Fetch". Choose easy mode, and keep refreshing until he asks you to go fetch a magical tiki mask. Go into the maze, get the mask, and escape, and you'll get to keep the mask. Give the mask to the Tiki Tack Man replacement, and the Tiki-Tack Man will appear. He will tell you that his Mystery Word is 'Beast'. (Mystery Words Found: 3/5) He'll also tell you to go ask Jhuidah the Island Faerie about her mystery word.
17) Pay Jhuidah a visit here , and she will inform you that a secret word has slipped her mind, and seems to have been erased from Neopia's history entirely! Upon searching for certain phrases (in this example, the Wheel of Excitement), it was discovered that the word 'of' was no longer in the Neopedia! Thus, 'of' was determined to be her word. (Mystery Words Found: 4/5)
18) Now, head back to the Island Mystic's hut and you'll find that he miraculously returned! Although he can't remember much, he does know that someone is trying to release the beast of mythic proportions hidden within the volcano. He also tells you the final part of the spell, 'Awaken'. (Mystery Words Found: 5/5)
19) You've finally gotten all 5 secret words! Head here, and a very frustrated Fire Faerie will try to tell you off. Add on the string ?mysteryphrase=ancientbeastofmagmaawaken (so that the link is now this), and a giant moltenore will erupt from the lava and "properly deal" with the Fire Faerie (the name of the image is 'volcano_faerie_lunch, I think that gets the point across). No matter which button you click, you will end up at the same page, so it does not matter whether you run or cower.
20) An evil shaman appears, looking very angry because you're controlling the beast that he came for! He begins reciting a strange incantation...
"Icarnatu ferosta lecktah! Icarnatu ferosta lecktah!!!"
