One Turn Kill - Cyber Stein

Cyber Stein is all about the OTK. It has the steepest mandatory LP payment in the game - 5000 LP to bring out a Fusion monster. It stays on the field, yes, and it can be ANY Fusion monster...but the cost is still the highest in the game. Your Fusion monster gains no extra protection, no extra effect...a single m/t card can ruin your entire plan. Which is why the deck is built to last until you can pull off the basic combo.

Cyber Stein OTK is very hard to pull off, as you DO need a clear field and some sort of power up for your monster. Generally, Cyber Stein will pull out a Cyber Twin Dragon, and attack the opponent for 6300 damage, which is just short of actually killing the opponent off. Adding a Megamorph to Cyber End will allow you to attack once for 8000, which WILL finish the opponent off, but you won't want to wait for power up cards.

That's where the Burn comes in, and makes this deck a VERY stable build. Pioneered by Igor Kharin in the UK Nats, this deck was featured on Metagame.com. Secret Barrel is chainable damage, as is Poison of the Old Man. Poison of the Old Man also doubles as life gain, in case you lose too many LP to pay for Cyber Stein. Nimble Momonga is in for deck thinning and life gain. Sangan and Tomato can search for Stein.

Not only did Igor have a stable Cyber Stein build, his side deck allowed him to switch to a straight Burn (Direct Damage) deck, and this would usually catch the opponent off guard. This is where you need to play skillfully. Waboku and Kuriboh are GREAT counters to Cyber Stein, but if your opponent is switching all fifteen cards in the side deck, then expect to face a Burn type of build...Waboku and Kuriboh do you little to no good in those circumstances.

When playing this deck, you need to hold on to cards until you are certain that you can pull off the OTK. When playing against a Cyber Stein deck, be prepared for a sudden assault. The best strategy is to use chainable protection Traps (such as Waboku or Threatening Roar) to chain to Giant Trunade, or to kill the opponent FAST. Swarming the field is a tactic that theoretically Cyber Stein won't be able to handle - there are no mass removal monster cards in most Cyber Stein decks, and the damage dealt will probably be more than the Fusions can handle. The thing about Cyber Stein is, you don't realize you're playing one until the game is over.
