Nobby's CM3 Ground Pictures

Welcome to Nobby's collection of stadium backgrounds for use in the Championship Manager 3 series.

This collection is set up for all CM3 games, however is an expansion of the pictures that come with the 00/01 version. At the moment, these are not available for download due to the sheer size of the catalogue of pictures. What is available are my collection of background stadia pics and the cfg file that incorporates them all.
Because of this, it is highly recommended that you install the pictures from the 00/01 game.

Instructions for setting up new picture database...
1. Install 00/01. Separate the pictures folder from the game and delete the entire of the rest of the game (unless of course you play this version!).
2. Back up your current pictures folder for your version, in case anything goes wrong. Then you still have those to use.
3. Downloaded the zipped picture files & cfg file into the 00/01 pictures folder.
4. Unzip the files.
5. Delete the old pics.cfg file if the new one hasn't replaced it.
6. Make the following ground name changes to your official editor (shock! horror!). These will only take full effect for new games for reasons explained after...
Recreation Ground into Recreation Ground, High Street
(for Aldershot Town)
The Recreation Ground into The Recreation Ground, Bridge Road
(for Grays Athletic)
National Stadium into National Stadium [Japan]
Repeat for Jamaica.
Dinamo into Dinamo [Belarus]
Olympiastadion into Olympiastadion [Finland]
Municipal into Municipal [Luxembourg]
Olimpico into Olimpico [San Marino]
Estadio Nacional into Estadio Nacional [Chile]
Repeat for Peru & Nicaragua.
Lokomotiv into Lokomotiv [Moscow]
The Stadium into The Stadium, Buckingham Road
(for Aylesbury United)
The reason for doing this is because some teams share the same ground name, which makes the wrong picture sometimes show for the wrong team. By making these changes, including the square brackets and the text inside, then the right picture will always be displayed. In addition, the bracketed text will not be displayed when playing the game, so National Stadium [Chile] will display as National Stadium and always display the correct picture.
I also recommend that you increase the stadium capacity of Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton to 60,000. This is because when the game was written, a 0 was omitted. Any other changes will be frowned upon and you will have Frank to answer to.
7. Transfer all of your unzipped pictures into the picture folder of your game. You will find they will all work next time you play your game, with the exception of the changes to the editor if you are playing a saved game.

Teams included are...
All English playable teams including those that can be promoted to the Conference with the exception of Braintree Town, Blyth Spartans, Heybridge Swifts and Frickley Athletic due to not obtaining any suitable pictures. Also included are City of Manchester Stadium, a computer design of the new Wembley and Newcastle Town, my local team.
Hampden Park, Celtic, Rangers, Kilmarnock, Inverness, Dunfermline, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Dundee, Dundee United, Livingston, St Mirren, St Johnstone, Raith & Airdrie from Scotland.
Benfica, Munich, Genclerbirligi, Fenerbache, Hamburg, Dortmund, Milan, Juventus, Leverkusen, Mallorca, Napoli, PSV, Parma, Porto, Rosenborg, Sampdoria, Schalke, Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Bremen, Lokomotiv Moscow, Sturm Graz, Bordeaux, Fiorentina, Atalanta, Kaiserslautern, Alaves, Levski Sofia, CSKA Sofia, Nantes, Espanyol, Malaga, Silkeborg, Murcia, Monaco from Europe.
Boca Juniors and that famous lower league team River Plate!
National Stadiums of Cameroon, Nigeria, South Korea, Japan (also Saitama), Belgium, Denmark, England (new Wembley, see above), Portugal, Sweden, Yugoslavia/Serbia & Montenegro, Canada, USA, Australia, Paraguay, Macedonia, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzogovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, New Zealand, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Wales (3 pics), Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Cuba, Grenada, Jamaica & Nicaragua.
There may also be some 00/01 pics that I have omitted from the list.

Some final points...
I recommend broadband. The zip files range from 1.62Mb to 4.66 and there are a dozen. Dial up will cope no problem, but 12 files will take some time.
I am not doing this for any profit. Where possible, site logos have been left on the pictures as credit. Please do not release these yourself and definately do not so for any financial gain. This is not endorsed by Sports Interactive or anyone else associated with the making of any of the Championship Manager 3 games.
Some pictures are not of a good quality. This is because the originals were fairly small in size and had to be stretched to the 800x600 res that CM3 uses. Note that these pics will NOT work with CM4 due to the higher res used by that game.
Further additions are possible, for example more national stadium, national league sets and so forth. This is dependant on what time I have and if the original is a success!
Any feedback or suggestions please leave on the Lower League Forum at Sports Interactive or in the Zealot Forum.
Enjoy!
