Albion

Albion's description

Albion is a Victorian style reflection of Amber, with the technology development similar to the level of the XIX century. The steampower and gunpowder is commonly in use. Magic exists in this universe, however it is very hard to control and often has side-effects. Albion is huge continent like island surrounded by the Royal See. There is small island situated on the west coast of Albion called Eirann. It is separeated from the "Main Land" (It is how Albionians call Albion) with The Canal of the Unicorn. The capital of Albion is Londinum although the Royal Castle (where the Rose Garden is situated) is in Westminstair.

The faith that rules in Albion and in the all worlds of materia is the Church of the Holy Unicorn.

They are five worlds of materia in this Amber reflection. Thoes worlds are called the Colonies. In old times when Oberon was the King of Albion, they were independent kingdoms, allied with Albion. Nowadays, when Bleys the Mad sits on the Albion's Throne, they are under strict control of the Albion Crown.

History of Albion

The History of Albion is devided in the three parts.

The Ancient Times

(this Era began about one thousand years ago)

That was the time when most of the elders were born (expect Osiric, Finndo and Benedict who were much older) Oberon was the king for about four hundred years. His reign ended after The First Rebellion. The Three Oberon's oldests sons (Osiric Finndo and Benedict) rised up against their father. There was a war that consumed many shadows. After fifty years of fight all traitors (expect Finndo who dissapired, and never came back to Albion) were catch and executed. Osiric before death, cursed his father, his siblings and Albion. Soon the Curse took the its harvest... Oberon fell in mysterious disease. There was no cure for it and the Great King died, after many days of agony. Before his death, Oberon pointed Corwin as the new king of Albion. However before Corwin had a chance to react, Bleys came to Albion with great army, and with the force he took the Crown. All his siblings (expect Fiona and Brand who were and officialy still are his supporters) rised up against him. That was the time when Dworkin dissapired.

The Great, Neverending War

Bleys siblings had to run away from Albion to gather a force that could defeat Bleys's army. During the escape Eric and Julian were killed. Corwin and his folowers (that means Flora, Deirdre, Cain, Gerard and Random) came for the help to the Albion's worst enemy - the Courts of Chaos. The Chaosites at the begining shaltered them. Soon Corwin alligned with the Radical Fraction of House Hendrake, leaded by Lady Dara Hendrake. Together they made a coup and killed Swaywill, the King of Chaos. Corwin married Dara (they have a son - Merlin) and he was "ellected" for the new King of Choas. That was how the Albion's dynasty came to rule. Deirdre married Lord Borel Hendrake, and Random married Borel's sister Jessica Hendrake. Under the rule of Corwin and Dara, Courts changed its form. It changed in the strong confederation of Shadows united with the person of the king. The magick passed and gave the place for the technology (much to Flora and Random's satisfaction).

Meanwhile in Albion, Bleys secured his reign. He married Elisabeth of Asatrey. He has four sons from this marriage: Malcolm, William, James and Robert. When they grown up Bleys made them his best generals "The fingers of the King", as he called them. Brand took the place of Dworkin, he became the master of the Trumps and "The Right Hand" of the Bleys. Fiona was at the begining Bleys's most trusted advisor, however she lost her position after the Rebellion. Soon The Albion became a place of politycal terror and tyrany of the mad king...

After one houndred years Corwin decided that he can not look anylonger on what his brother was doing with their homeland. The king gathered his siblings and the Chaosite Parliament (which, he created when he became the king) and ordered the invasion on Albion. The attack had to began with the Rebellion against the Albion Crown in Colonies. Gerard was the one who lead the Revolt. Corwin sent him, his Chaos Army with the support of the Chaos Fleet, leaded by the Cain. Bleys and Brand reacted fast. With the Fiona's Magick they teleported the Albion's Army to the Colonies, before the Chaos Fleet landed. The Colonies were drown in the blood. The Chaos Army was broken. Gerard was caught and prisoned in the Tower Prison of Londinum. Bleys decided to execute Gerard. That was when Fiona fell in Bley's disgrace. She asked Bleys to show mercy to Gerard. For this deed she was "banished" to the Eirann, and Gerard was hunged.

The Cold War (the Present times)

After two hundred years, Bleys granted Fiona to come back to Albion, and her guilty was forgiven. However Fiona rested in Eirann, that was were she meet Alyson's father, Lord Patrick of Shannonfield. They married and after a year Alyson was born.

Fiona told and taught Alyson anything that she knew about the Rose Garden. When Alyson was twenty two, her mother took her to Westminstair when she passed the Rose Garden. Brand agreed to teach Alyson the Trumps. After thoes studys she returned to Eirann.

There is a Cold War between Albion and the Courts, there is no open fight, but everyone knows that sooner or later, Bleys or Corwin will attack and the war will begin once more...
