Final Fantasy VIII

A review by MasterHawk

A lot of people say this game isnt good because it is easy. Well, it might be easy but this game is pretty fun. It has a good battle system, but that is only my opinion. There is a connection between two characters in this game. Their names are Squall and Rinoa. Squall is the main character in this game, and Rinoa is part of a resistence faction. here are some of the characters:

Squall Leonhart
Age: 17
Height: 5'8"
Weapon of Choice: Gunblade
Limit Break: Renzokuken

Orphan and once under the care of Matron. He, along with the rest of the orphans, do not remember that they are truly orphans until late in the game. He was once lost away from Ellone, whom he and the other orphan children called their sister. From this experience he has become cold and unfriendly, relying only on himself. In the game he slowly becomes more trusting, mostly because of his relationship with Rinoa. He was able to open up to her. Squall wields the Gunblade, a difficult weapon that takes years to master. Only he and Seifer use them at Balamb Garden.

Zell Dincht
Age: 17
Height: 5'5"
Weapon of Choice: Gloves
Limit Break: Duel

Zell is a loud-mouthed, energetic guy that joined Balamb Garden to become a SeeD just like his grandfather. Grandfather Dincht really isn't his actually grandfather because he was another orphan with Quistis and Squall. He has an obsession with hot dogs and just can't get enough of them.

Quistis Trepe
Age: 18
Height: 5'6"
Weapon of Choice: Whip
Limit Break: Blue Magic

She later resigns to become a full-fledged SeeD. She is also one of the orphans that used to live with Matron. At first she thinks she has feelings for Squall, but later discovers they are more feelings of friendship because of their being orphans together in the past. Quistis is much respected in Balamb, and has somewhat of a cult following. The members are called "Trepies". She's a young genius, being only a year older than Squall yet being a SeeD instructor. She uses Blue Magic, which are skills that enemies use when you fight.

The storyline is pretty fun. Squall and friends become part of the seeD's and their main job is to destroy the sorceress Edea. To see a picture of Edea, look in Empress's avatar. Anyway their first attempt to assainate the sorceress was to meet irvine, a sharp shooter, and shoot the princess. I will let you see the out come when you buy the game. The music in this game is Ok. Oh, i forgot to talk about the school tha Squall and friends go to. Balamd Garden is the school that Zell, Sefer, and selphie go to. Well that is about it. I will add more later on.
