You may ask now, "Why would I want to play axis? They
lost!" I'll tell you why! This game is set up so that whichever side does
the best, wins! So don't think you'll get stuck behind history on that matter.
As well the Axis contain most of the best players the game has to offer, so you
know you'll be working with very competent and helpful peers. We, as well, have
arguably the best air
forces and ground forces in the game! You'll truly appreciate being apart of
this illustrious organization!
But what is World War Two Online you ask?
It's part of a genre called massively multiplayer online. Technically speaking it is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, First Person Shooter, Real Time Strategy (MMORPGFPSRTS).
The game's theme itself is World War Two
themed. It combines the crucial military elements of land, sea, and air into a massive map of northern Europe. More specifically you are able to play as one of, but not limited to: Tanks, Trucks, Anti-Tank guns,
Rifle/Sub-Machinegun/Sapper (anti-tank) Infantry, Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Fighter planes, Fighter bombers, Bombers, and
Patrol Boats.
The spawning system is like you'd find in most multiplayer games. You log in, find a town you like, and spawn at the
army base or the airfield, forward base (FB), or dock if the town has one.
The RPG aspect comes in with attaining rank. One doesn't start off with the ability to command the best weapons in the game, one must play and take missions and complete them successfully in order to progress through the ranks. You go from Private up through Field Marshall and you get additional perks once you have become an officer. With officer status you have the ability to post your own missions and depending on how high a rank you are you have the ability to set higher priority to your missions allowing more points to be earned.
The most spectacular feature of the game is its really open ended nature. Most WWII games keep themselves within historical context and stray only with storyline. WW2OL is different as even though the equipment is period, the outcomes of battles and where they take place is not. As of right now the game is in the Blitzkrieg theater in which the German forces quickly moved across western Europe and eventually conquered France. The map, or theater, has always
shifted in who has more power; allies or axis. Not every time will the Axis win, nor the Allies and no map is ever won the same way twice.

Although there is a FPS aspect to the game, don't confuse this with your normal FPS. This game is not designed for you to go
lone wolf and kill whomever you please. Just because you are a tank, doesn't mean you're the man. If you go off and try and find someone to kill without support you'll soon find yourself dead without knowing who did it. This isn't the best way to spend your time as, unless you are spawning into a town that is under attack, it takes 5 minutes or more to really get into action due to the shear size of the map. Europe isn't small ;)
In spite of that, this is the best strategy game, and definitely the best strategy MMORPG, to date. A huge world with a
plethora of equipment to choose from and an extremely realistic, logistics based warfare keep you constantly on your toes. No game experience is ever the same and anyone who is looking for a strategy game will find the most intense and involving strategy game of all time right here. Go ahead, go out and buy it if you don't already have
